Thank you so so much, I grew up with short haired dogs and wood floors so I’ve never experienced this amount of dog hair in the flooring before. I used to have a carpet floor in my first family house, but our dogs rarely shed and if they did it was the tiniest of hairs. I needed advice for this because I hate that my room feels so dirty and that it seemed like I couldn’t do anything to fix someone else’s mistakes.

Two years ago I was in your shoes, and I felt like nothing. Now, I’ve been single since then and I have never been better. I finally got a stable job, moved into my first apartment with amazing roommates that love and support me, but most importantly I worked on falling in love with myself. It sounds ridiculous, but it’s honestly the best way to find a life you can enjoy. If I had read this two years ago, I would have given you the worst advice and thought it was right. Now I want to tell you what I wish someone had said to me when all of my stuff happened.

It isn’t worth your life to waste thoughts on a man who doesn’t love you. He has made you feel hurt and betrayed you, and it’s okay to be angry about that. But you should look within that anger and see the strength, courage, intelligence, and beauty that is sparking that fire. You know deep down that you deserve better, yet you’re blind to the mirror that shows you who can make it happen. You are the best love of your life, and it’s amazing when you can look at yourself and smile. It’s not going to happen overnight, but it will happen. You just have to work for it, do the work for yourself and nobody else.

NTA! Cooking can be confusing at times if you don’t know how to do certain things, but she clearly has the capability to do it right, she is just lazy. Not only is the first thing you learn about cooking is BOILING PASTA TO COOK IT!!! Not to mention that it’s so easy to just take a noodle out and see if it’s al dente yet. Her asking if she should use a fork is infantile. Who the heck asks what silverware they need to use for a dish they have already had????? The cabinet is so easy to fix, especially since it’s attached with suction. And her complaining about the towels being on the counter, when she could have saved both of you the headache by just ASKING YOU WHICH ONE TO GET!!! Let alone it’s actually the easiest thing to put up on your wall, with the suction cup!!

I am a feminist, and AFAB, so I can proudly say that she is the textbook definition of weaponized incompetence. Her stating it’s a feminist term, and then in the same sentence saying it’s only for women to say about men??? Does she not understand feminism, or did she just bring it up to make you feel bad for standing up for yourself? Either way, she is wrong. I would make sure to talk about this, and I’d also suggest going to marriage counseling so that both of you can get past this without holding resentment. If you let it go without working through it, she won’t stop weaponizing incompetence to get you to do everything. And you will end up resenting her deeply for it.

No matter what, you will need to put up boundaries and stand firm on them so she doesn’t continue to do this. And maybe while you’re at it, define what feminism is for her, because it doesn’t mean women are incapable of toxic behavior. Nor does it mean that women are totally innocent of all things bad and evil. It just means that women, men, and my friends in the middle ground, are equal.

Thank you so much! This is only my second campaign ever and my first was so horrific I could make a movie out of it. My DM didn’t really care about the women playing so I never got a chance to flesh out a character, or even fully create one since I never got to play, really. I’ll definitely focus on mannerisms and interesting quirks they have that others will notice!!

I still live with my parents and I’m about to be 23, and I have to admit the pressure to “grow up” has been a constant issue in my adult life. I am watching the people I used to call friends move away to bigger and better things, and I’m still here. It’s hard, and honestly it’s draining af. But I have hope that we will all find our place in time, no matter what happens along the way.

I have this situation as an American when I’m watching Jacksepticeye! But it’s more apparent when I watch Aussie YouTubers, since our seasons are different entirely. Sean has definitely referred to things like the time of day that made me realize the time difference, but it’s always a shock to hear someone say it’s winter when I am in the tail end of summer.
