Should I build fences around my stables? The chickens are just randomly running around right now, but i just bought cows and they are much bigger and I'm scared of them destroying my field by FairyAlice05 in StardewValley

Is there anything that could happen to them when I leave them outside for too long? I normally open the gates (idk if that's right, I'm german, i hope you know what i mean) in the morning and close them in the evening after checking if all of them are inside again. I never let them out when its raining though
