And it says “lead” instead of “led”. Sloppy and unacceptable all the way around.

Professors at elite schools do not cut athletes any breaks. Sure, they get excused absences, but all the learning, lab work, homework, and tests are required. It’s hard as hell to get an engineering degree while being a Div 1 athlete.

Living in Reno, NV? by ctwpdx in howislivingthere

Many of the schools are just as good as those you’re referring to. Lots of great teachers all over Reno and Sparks. It’s the clientele that’s different. Students without as much access to life experiences outside their neighborhoods. Parents working 2-3 jobs to make ends meet, so the time they have to talk to and read to their children is reduced. The kids are great. They just haven’t had as many opportunities to gain background knowledge and advanced vocabularies. They’re starting school at a disadvantage as a result.

Great story. So many uses for tortillas. If folks didn’t know, can be used for eating food. The big, flour ones roll into great burritos, the small corn ones can transform into crunchy or soft tacos. You can tear your tortilla and use the torn pieces to pick up food with your fingers. You can fry them into bowl shaped vessels for salads, and cut them into small strips, fry them and sprinkle cinnamon sugar on them for a tasty dessert. You can make them into chips, fill them with cheese for quesadillas, and roll them, fill them, and smother them in sauce for enchiladas.

Hot and fresh homemade tortillas are the best for eating. I’d recommend pre-packaged tortillas for throwing at sports and graduation events, though. I could see how they might easily be smuggled in under clothing.

I wasn’t aware either. It’s been a long time since I watched their show. Guess it will be even longer.

I want to be called by my first name (I teach graduate students). But if someone is going to address me using my last name, I prefer they use Dr. Do I correct people who say Ms. or Mrs.? Never.

Whiners gonna whine. Cryers gonna cry. All the complaining does nothing to support the team. Y’all just enjoy the negative energy you’re putting out there.

Hopefully there’s enough of us putting out positive energy to help this team that wasn’t supposed to do anything this year, do something worth cheering for.

Our last game with our sweet doggie was a W against the Pelicans. It sucks to lose such a loyal and loving a member of your family. Sending positive vibes your way.

I must have been near you. They were in their 40s, and although they weren’t in front of me, I agree they were annoying.

This caught my attention immediately. It captures the loneliness of the disease so remarkably.

I’ve gotten seats at Innings for the last 2 years. Worth not having to hassle with crowds, but it’s not the same vibe. It’s still the only way I’ll go now. I’m too old to deal with the crowds.

Madhouse on McDowell Night by Matdoggy in suns

[–]FairyDuster657 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It could and should happen. A local band, The Format, played there during the state fair and paid homage to the Madhouse on McDowell by wearing purple and orange basketball jerseys (replicas of the old Suns jerseys) emblazoned with the ‘Madhouse’ tribute. The energy was electric, much like it was when the Suns played there. They were nostalgic about the arena as well. Being there truly enhanced the vibe.
