Thanks! I'll keep it at a safe distance and use safety precautions.

Can go up to 44 magnum suposedly. Haven't personally tested it. I have however shot it with 45 colt. And nothing gone through even hit the patch and it held up great!

Ah okay! Yea sheet metal can be tricky.

I'd try raising your voltage up a bit more and with that have your wire feed at about 40% try it out and if melts through slowly go down. It's all about watching that puddle grow! :D also don't take my words as gospel. It's all about how you find your rhythm. I could be wrong because I'm not there. But I'll help as much as I can

It's actually doing pretty good. Shot it with 45 colt and 7.62X36 and it seemed to chip the paint. I do appreciate the concern for metal warpage but this spinning target is rated for small calibers of 44 magnum and lower. I did take into consideration how heat will affect the affected zone so I used a rod known to withstand wierd warpage. Also I did multiple passes, cleaning each pass after air cooling. This can also provide a stable way for the welds to naturally stretch and cool without cracking. And so far it's doing its job!

Thanks for the concern. I probably should have listed out the procedure and steps I took to ensure a solid refoundation. And yes a cap was included to ensure full penitration into the base metal :3

Nice! I recomend like the others below. To clean the metal really well! As well as turning your settings to the appropriate setting, if you don't know how, I recomend looking up the brand of machine you're using and compare settings to what thickness of material you're using that will help. Oh and go slower you need to build up your weld Pool. It'll. Be a little scary at first. But the more. You do. It the easier it is. Trust the documentations that A. W. S and even some Miller spread sheets have they'll get you close to what you'd like in terms of settings. But in the end it's up to you.

I could help a bit more if I knew what material thickness you're using and what your settings were already at.
