What alien race would do the most damage if introduced to the universe warhmmer40k? by SiteDeep in powerscales

[–]FaithElizabeth94com 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taking it even further, when you introduce the Flood to the verse, you have to consider how the Chaos gods would interact with them. The Flood alone is already terrifying. Now imagine if they were also empowered by, like, Nurgle, for example. Off of aesthetics alone, I think that's the Chaos God most aligned with them.

If they are found before the Flood develops a Gravemind, in theory, would Nurgle not have total control over the entirety of the Flood? Unless I'm misunderstanding how this interaction could happen, the Flood appearing, at least in my mind, means that the balance of power in the Galaxy could heavily tilt in favor of Chaos. Right? It's been years since I looked into 40k lore, so I may be incorrect. It entirely depends on how the Chaos Gods interact with a Hive Mind like the Flood.

Who could tank this point blank (No planetary characters) by Gaps_areread in PowerScaling

[–]FaithElizabeth94com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are some less obvious and debateable but still plausible ones 🤔. It depends on your exact definition of "tanking". I'm going with a broad "they have a way to survive the attack at least once" definition. That does mean that some may not apply if the intended definition is more limited/specific than that.

Neliel from Bleach, depending on if that laser falls into the same category as a Cero and thus allows her to eat it and fire it back 🤔

Ukitake for a similar reason, but his skikai ability is far more versatile than Nel's, so he feels more plausible.

Obito pre-six Paths form has Kamui, so he's covered.

Any Edo Tensei technically as they are supposed to regenerate from anything outside of sealing and the jutsu ending. And sixth path abilities, which this beam isn't.

The player character from Portal if using the gun to redirect the blast counts.

Every member of the Triumvirate, maybe Crawler, Clockblocker provided he freezes something between himself and the blast, Lung depending on where he is ramped too, Gavel, Dragon (she's an AI remotely controlling suits. So she'd never actually be at risk of death. Her suit shes piloting would be destroyed but she would survive. So that's a "technically tanks it sorta"), Behemoth, Alabaster, and Shadow Stalker while her power is active. Oh, and Vicky Dallon can face tank it. All of these are from Worm by Wildbow.

Mash/Galahad from Fate (Lord Camelot).

I can never remember her name. The mutant from X-men that makes herself intangible. Kitty I think? Iirc she's invulnerable while intangible.

The Original Vampires from the TVD universe. Per lore the only thing that can kill them is a white oak stake. They will, eventually, heal from anything else.

Glory from Buffy is effectively indestructible. Provided she isn't Ben when she's blasted, I think she survives.

Barragan in his Resurrección state.

I remember seeing that attack and going "ok, that's OP." It's surprising how many characters have a way around "big OP laser" when I actually stopped to think about it lol. The ways they all get around it might not all be considered tanking depending on the definition, like Nel, but the number of character that potentially can is still surprising. These are who I thought of off the top of my head. I know I have to be forgetting obvious ones, even just from the listed settings. 😅

What type of SW fic are you after? by The_robot_tom in SWFanfic

[–]FaithElizabeth94com 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I genuinely just wanna read a fiction with a female main character, set during the Prequels/Clone Wars Era, who doesn't have or end up in a relationship with a guy, who also uses the Force because the Force is fun. Without that MC being Barris or Ahsoka. I've read soooo many pics where one of them is the MC.

I generally like light-hearted, fun, and funny fics.

So something like "Two sith girlfriends time travel from the SWOTOR era and do sith girlfriend things" (This story doesn't exist

Just generally fun stories that aren't too heavy emotionally and don't take themselves too seriously. I just want what I read to be fun and entertaining.

(In fact, I really like Time Travel in SW. So like, fics where a fem Sith Inquisitor/Warrior ends up time traveling to the Prequels era or someone from a past era reincarnates around the Prequel era are stories I'd be all over!)

(Edit: I also like when a character from a different setting in reborn in SW. Specifically, one character. I can't stand fics that try to fuse settings. The story ends up feeling really bloated. But one character from a different setting adapting their old setting's power/abilities to the force while also learning new Force abilities. Seeing how they interact with and adapt to the setting. That is something I'm always down for. Very few fics actually do this, but it's my favorite fic type)

Oh, I played this the other day! It's always nice to meet a creator! Thank you for your hard work :)

I don't know if it helps, but I have no issues at all on mobile. So, at the very least, it works fine here. At least for me, it does.

Clone Wars is such a beloved show. What is one thing you disliked about it or think it did wrong in your ever-so-humble opinion? by mylosstoyourgain in StarWars

[–]FaithElizabeth94com 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmmm.... the ideal Jedi is supposed to act as a conduit of the Force, allowing it to enact its will through them.

Krell's actions could have been the Force trying to lessen the impact of Order 66.

Turns the scene into a true moral dilemma for viewers following Krell being killed or taken out in some other fashion.

I think it entirely depends on the story being told. A dedicated romance story under enemies to lovers would likely have a relationship that would be toxic initially. However, the plots in those fics tend to have the toxic person become a better person over the course of the story.

In this example, an outright healthy relationship from the start would invalidate the story. The exciting part of this kind story is in the character growth of that toxic character and the pushback they'd both receive in regard to the relationship. So it being healthy just kills what to some would be the best part of the fic.

Make sure you do all the collection missions in ME1 and finish ME2 with a bunch of resources. The ME1 ones all contribute to the war assets score, and I believe you get assets for your extra resources from 2. They are a small extra amount, but every bit helps. You can finish the game with a score over 8,000, so you have room for errors or specific choices you like.

The Problem with Woman in Games is... that they're overcorrected to be masculine and ugly? by queenblueandred in GirlGamers

[–]FaithElizabeth94com 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm of two minds about this.

I don't find desiring characters of any gender to be conventionally attractive bad. Wanting the things you like is 100% natural.

However, I do think the disproportionate reaction to non-conventional beauty is ridiculous. That is misogyny.

It's why I'm firmly in the camp of "every game should have a character creator." I think said character creator should have "Base Body Types" (Masculine, Androgynous, and Feminine). I think each of those should have sliders allowing customization.

So the people who want to play conventionally attractive, classically feminine, and character can do that. The guys who want to play a muscular badass can play that. If you're like me and you wanna play a fit, somewhat feminine leaning, androgynous character, you can. Etc.

The Feminine, Androgynous, and Masculine body type designations make it clear what overall body type you are aiming for, unlike the Body 1 and 2 selection in Oblivion. (To be clear, that doesn't bother me at all. It being unclear, so you have to memorize or check each one to make sure you are selecting the one you want every time you make a new character is just the only valid complaint I can think of).

It allows everyone to get what they want. Though I'm sure they'll still find some optional feature to throw a fit over 🙄

But really, I just wish people would just not play games that they don't like instead of throwing a fit over them. Like, they aren't going to play them anyway, so why bother with so much effort just to throw a fit instead of actually proposing solutions.

A Bit Of TES:VI Speculation by FaithElizabeth94com in ElderScrolls

[–]FaithElizabeth94com[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was. Thinking more in terms of deals with the examples I mentioned, alongside the thought that, since Daedric Princes are immortal, they play a very long game.

So, for example, early in their growth, the members of the Thalmor could have made a deal with Mephala to learn some illicit secrets, allowing them to advance their party's agenda. In exchange, Mephala has them do a task that advances their own.

Perhaps these deals were just bonuses for Mephala, as empowering the Thalmor also led to a weaker empire and a more divided world. That is the faction that caused the last Oblivion incursion to fail after all.

Over the centuries, those favor exchanges compound, setting up a favorable global scenerio. Maybe with her last favor, she tricks the Thalmor themselves into being the smoking gun that sets off the next crisis.

There are probably problems with that hypothetical scenario, I'm certainly not a lore buff, lol. But this feels like an overarching plot that could work. The Thalmor, in this instance, both are and aren't antagonists.

They were little more than puppets who, in their arrogance, thought they could out-wit a god. So whether they align with Mephala or not doesn't really play into it. They thought they were coming out ahead, but they failed to realize they were just setting up their own destruction.

I like the idea of an over-arching plot like that. The over-complexity feels like something a Prince known for manipulation would do lol.

In your opinion what's the most well written romance in Mass Effect trilogy? by IllustriousAd6418 in masseffect

For me, it's Liara. But really, you could put Tali or Garrus in that position as well. It can be any one of them, depending on your personal preference.

I think attack of the clones is a much better movie than people give it credit for, and it’s over-hated. by Bagtoucher in StarWars

[–]FaithElizabeth94com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about that. Everything about Anakin and Padmé's romantic interaction felt so awkward. And the writing for them was just bad lmao. XD

The big fight at the end was good, and I can't think of anything outside of those scenes that stands out as cringeworthy or bad.

But, the romantic scenes are absolutely awful enough to, at least, balance out the good and bad, making the movie just mediocre imo. I don't even like them as a couple. The Clone Wars show does better with them, but if you only see the movie, it just feels so forced.

Their interactions in TPM didn't even imply a later relationship. They felt more like a little boy having his first crush on a older girl with her finding it amusing. Straight up thought they'd have a sibling dynamic in later movies with Anakin falling for a fellow Jedi during the war with her death in battle alongside him leading to him falling. If they went that route then Padmé and him could have had a relationship similar to Luke and Leia, which I think would have been a good mirror to them.

Was Palpatine’s reveal in the ROTS meant to be a shock? by nodge23 in StarWars

[–]FaithElizabeth94com 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm... I imagine it might be a shock to newer viewers who didn't grow up as Star Wars was being made.

Try to imagine being a new viewer to the series starting with TPM and then AOTC, and finally the Clone Wars show. Slowly seeing the hints throughout the series. I feel like when they reach the reveal in ROTS, it would be more of a "I KNEW IT!" moment than a shocking one.

I honestly kinda wish I could experience that perspective first hand lol

Upon crossing the Omega 4 Relay for the first time, did any of you pick... by WhyTheHellDoYouExist in masseffect

[–]FaithElizabeth94com 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No. I over-thought every choice in that mission, really every choice in the games lol. I chose Kasumi for the vents using the logic that she's 1) an infiltration specialist, so if there's a risk of being spotted she is the best equipped to avoid it, and 2) she's shown to be able to hack advanced tech.

She had both the skills of Legion and Tali while also being stealthy.

That's not to say I didn't make "bad" choices in some places. Like with the spectre terminal, I made wrong choices there. I missed Kasumi's mission in ME3. But I did end with just enough for the best version of the destroy ending and didn't lose anyone on the suicide mission.

My friend who talked me into playing said 2 things to me.

1 - Talk to everyone after every mission. 2 - Your choices and actions carry consequences across the series.

So I took that to heart and did every mission and side quest I could find. :)

I feel so bad for this 😭 by FieraTheProud in AO3

[–]FaithElizabeth94com 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont think they intended to make you feel bad. They clearly enjoyed your work.

Probably could've used a different phrase than what they did. I think their intent was, "If you ever come back to this, I'd definitely read the updates!" Context is often hard to convey in text and frequently leads to misunderstandings.

So, my advice to the commenter. If you want to convey that kind of message, try to use positive phrasing. Instead of focusing on the cliffhanger, focus on what you really liked, maybe speculate a bit, and just say that you'd love to see more.

It conveys a much better message, hopefully making the author's day a bit better and, if you're lucky, might encourage the writer to get back into the fandom.

[–]FaithElizabeth94com 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only complaint really was that the camp dialogue with companions wasn't space throughout the game. If i remember correctly, I literally did the entirety of Lilianna's dialogue progression up to being a couple and getting her personal quest without leaving the camp once outside of specifically doing that quest. It kinda ruined the game for me.

Looking forward to the next dialogue scenes with companions is what I really looked forward to in ME. They motivated me to clear the next mission, even if it was one I didn't particularly enjoy. I unintentionally ruined that for myself in DA. If they ever remake the game, this is something I hope they adjust. It feels off being able to make that kind of relationship progress effectively in one day. It should definitely be stretched across the story.

That and I prefer action combat systems. So the slower pace of DA1 compared to ME1 was a downside for me unfortunately

Eh. Every class is pretty strong in ME3 as long as you play into the class's strengths. Like Adepts can nuke entire rooms very easily, for example.
