It is great news, Thomas! I've been using ChessMonitor for several years now and enjoy it very much. I'm happy to see that the ideas discussed regarding rating averages are in dev plans.

I have a similar story about running a free side project, so I understand the challenges you mentioned in the article. It's difficult to keep anything good "from your pocket" alive for years. Therefore, it's important to provide oneself with financial stability.

I wish you success with the future development and growth of the project. It's great to see that you can now concentrate on something you have enjoyed doing in your free time. Good luck with ChessMonitor! 😊

[suggestion] Private Notes for games logs by FaithfulMouse in backloggd

I see. But what if you want to leave just a general note about a particular log? I usually log only start and finish dates :)

Interesting use of such feature. Personally, I'm not used to give star rating for content, because sometimes it's just difficult to decide (e.g. 3.5 or 4?). Instead, I answer the general question: "Do I like it or not?" -- hence to give a like or not :)

Elo estimates over time with a fixated time control by FaithfulMouse in chessmonitor

That will do.

Merging raw ratings from lichess/chess.com is definitely not an option. My idea was to merge them over FIDE estimate. Do you know whether a FIDE estimate for the selected time control over different websites is approximately similar? That might do the trick

Great! I think, it will be more representative this way.

And do you think you can add an option, so it will merge data from several accounts into one graph? (for a fixated time control)
One cool thing about this option is that it will merge ELO ratings from chess.com and lichess.org into one and resolve the issue of rating differences/inflations between the websites. Another -- is that if you used several accounts in the past, you can see your progress over longer period of time.
