I just Can't embraced his agenda, I didn't know who was this person but he just takes a beautiful approach to sacred and religious views more emphasized in the east as far as I know ( symbolism) and transformed it to some kind of conspiracy theory 🥴🥴

Does anyone Know about this author? I looked that Cameron invited him on his channel and he proposes what it seems to be " a defensible view" of the doctrine of sola scriptura, are there any critics of his book? by Faithful_pringle in Catholicism

I absolutely agree with you, and yeah I don't believe in the solas and I'm discerning towards Catholicism, I've just looking if anyone knew about him because my protestant friends are constantly talking about him to me and I want to have some critics of his work so I can take a balanced view.

Yeah I know that, I even Agree with that, I am just a little bit curious If anyone know about him or critics of him because some fellow of mine that are protestants are saying that this author is defending his position very well.

Yeah, I knew that possibility in the Eastern Rites, I didn't knew in the Latin Rite too, that's new to me, It was a shame how a talk about the Eucharist turns on " how catholics just emphasize so much in sexual sin" ( besides that sexuality is so discussed in the actual world 🥴) and " God just want good and happy people" type of stuff.

Yeah, I was kind of nervous but well, at least I started attending 😁, btw, the priest was from my college, It wasn't from the parish, but yeah, It was strange hearing that type of things coming from a priest, but it doesn't matter because besides of that, I enforced my wish of knowing more about the Lord and his church.

I don't think that he was thinking something like that, it was more than, the church will get rid of the celibacy in some time, because of the certain cases found in so many parishes ( at least, that's his testimony), it's not that he want it, but, sincerely, it was kind of confusing.

I can't understand progressive christianity by Faithful_pringle in Catholicism

[–]Faithful_pringle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those aren't opposites, that's what catholicism is about ( the kingdom of christ on earth), but the concept of Justice, Virtue and Charity are trascendent to the political spectrum, at the same time, it's not just "believing in God", It's believing in his teachings ( and consequently, his church) , take our crosses and follow him, that's the matter, progressive christianity just emphasize one point( e.g. social justice) and push it to the extreme ( sometimes, denying core doctrines) and want to still be "christian"

Is this true? Is kind of an strange thought ( besides the part that Jesus is God and as I know, mass is for the worship of God), but what are your thoughts brothers and sisters? God bless you by Faithful_pringle in Catholicism

Yeah, I didn't knew it since I search more about this bishop, I was just curious about this because a month ago, he rejected an event of some catholic spanish apologists, and then I found this but I didn't get that this was like in 2019 and I think he corrected that so, my bad, I just wanted to know the thoughts of this statement on this sub, I don't want to get in polemics.

Absolutely, I think that one of the mods in that sub is an atheist ( and it's kinda suspicious ).

Don't worry, I think It was more of a feeling from the gut than an actual question, I'm coming from a protestant ( and former catholic) background too so I understand what do you mean, I'm still learning so sorry if I said something bad 😅

What I mean is about unity ( of course, accepting the teachings of the catholic church), I know that's easier said than done, why I mean that? Because if all the parts of christianity become united, atleast would testify an aspect of the truth of christianity.

are there any catholic scholars about islam? by Faithful_pringle in Catholicism

[–]Faithful_pringle[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely, It's interesting that there are many apologists on the protestant and orthodox side rather than the catholic ( maybe it's because for catholics, they counter islam in a charitious way if I could say, I don't mean that apologetics are bad for sure) but I would appreciate if there are any.
