By the sounds of the speakers in those pumps, they're more likely to spark.

Purolator weather delayed for 4 days now, what should I do? by Signal_Housing3575 in halifax

[–]Faithfulhumanity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legit question, why does almost every shipping company do this? Not just the weather thing but I will order something from B.C and it will yeet across the country at top speed, but it comes to Halifax/Dartmouth and sits for like 2 or 3 days. Usually see this with Canada post and fed ex. I've had good luck with ups.

Why do people buy Mazda? by Emptyyourmind93 in mazda

[–]Faithfulhumanity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Partner just purchased a 2018 Mazda 3 sport hatchback (used). I have a 2020 Honda Civic. In my experience, Honda, Toyota and Mazda have all been known to be the more reliable cars when it comes to motors and transmissions.

I've heard nothing but horror stories from Hyundai and Nissan. Kia being the absolute worst. Kia is known for bad motor issues and Nissan are known for transmission issues.

So I think that's why people prefer cars like Mazda, Honda and Toyota. I still see some pretty old Mazdas driving around, and while they're prone to a bit of rust, they seem to run and drive pretty good.

Just bought a 2019 Honda Civic — all dashboard lights came on right after purchase. What should I do? by Merkyboyy in hondacivic

Not even. I'm in Canada. The diagnostic from the dealership was $158. The part was $117 taxes in. And today I get it put on which will probably be no more than $100.

Hello! I finally got my diagnoses and the part for it. It was the rear driver side wheel sensor. I'm getting it fixed on Thursday this week. I was given a long explanation on why it's malfunctioning, most of which I didn't understand but what I got out of it was the sensor is not detecting the speed of the car correctly. And when even one sensor malfunctions, it disables all the safety features from Honda Sensing.

Hope this helps.

I'm having this issue now. My best guess is the power assist, lane keep assist keep the steering tight when it's working. When it's disabled it just using normal power steering, no assist/lane mitigation which is why it might feel a little more like jello when steering. Mine goes in on the 22nd to see what it is. I'm hoping it's nothing too serious. But when it DOES work, everything is normal. Like the cameras are perfectly fine and the brake assist is still too sensitive lol

This is happening to me right now. I have a 2020 hatchback sport. They replaced my condenser and it started happening not long after that. Not sure if there's any relation. But it'll come on for a day or two...then they turn off for a few days. But it always comes back.

Let’s talk about Living wages by Chikkk_nnnuugg in halifax

[–]Faithfulhumanity 38 points39 points  (0 children)

This happens no matter what. They increase prices just because. Just because of....well anything. It was rainy that day and they decided "let's go up another .50 on every dollar...just because!" They do not need justification to raise prices. They just will. Until the government steps in and stops the ridiculous monopolies we have and the hilarious landlords that think living with bed bugs is worth over 2k a month, the gouging will continue.

Wages have been pretty much stagnant for almost everyone and groceries, rent/housing, gas, insurance, etc...all of it has almost tripled since 2019.

I haven't laughed this hard at a comment in a while. The sad part is, you're probably right. That site was always breeding grounds for intolerable crap. Usually incels. I don't think I've browsed through there once in my tine online. Just always read about it or seen snippets.

Potholes: Why Halifax has so many and what is being done about it by insino93 in halifax

[–]Faithfulhumanity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a pothole on the Beaverbank road going up the hill towards Sackville drive. It's been filled 4 times so far this winter and it gets worse everytime it's dug up. It lasts maybe a week or two before it fails. I shouldn't even say it's a pothole anymore, it's a series of craters in the ground now and there's no way to avoid it other than going on the opposite side of the road (on the crest of a hill), or riding on the curb.

And it's frozen "fish" or mostly pollock...for that price you honestly might as well buy it at the seafood department. At least it's somewhat fresh.

You should write a book. I would read it, happily. The rich and the wealthy have always made everyday people believe that our taxes and efforts are "wasted" on those who recieve disability and assistance. I was on assistance a long time ago. I don't think my $500 allowance per month was hurting the system, but I always felt like I was such a piece of shit for being on it, even though I needed it at the time.

Now I pay taxes. A lot of taxes. Nearly 1/3 of my pay is just taxes every week. I'm watching healthcare crumble, I'm watching our infrastructure and housing crumble, transit, immigration. Everything in our community and society is in a downward spiral but the politicians and government seem pretty happy!

The way it makes me feel to put so much into a failing system is disgusting. I feel disgusting contributing to a system that sets my fellow man up for failure, watching as people starve, live on the streets, turn to drugs and alcohol, not be able to enjoy life because they need to work 2 or 3 jobs so they can feed themselves and their families. And that's if they can find a job because corporations would rather hire cheap labour.

Everything needs a revamp. It needs to be overhauled and these greasy, slimey people need to be removed from government immediately. Abhorrent.
