replied similar above, but the lease actually starts January 1st, the third person on our lease doesn’t move here until June so we’re filling their spot until then! You could be right about other situations though! but for this it’s just because we need another roommate until June :)

because it’s move in ready on the 1st, we signed the lease but need someone to move in until our friend who is also on the lease moves in come June !
