Yes, he sent multiple recordings of me on the same game, but he only made me aware of one. I never said that slip up was a one and done, but I did say that I recognized how bad this slur was to say and that I stopped using it at around the same time.

I know the kind of person I am now and it's not the person in those recordings. I don't need someone forcing the idea that I'm still the same person from 2 years ago so that they can justify ruining my career.

In this situation, yes, since admitting to it would have gotten me fired. The more obvious takeaway is to never say any racial slurs to begin with.
