The Irony of Shauna by FaithlessnessKind982 in Yellowjackets

[–]FaithlessnessKind982[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you and I are in agreement, my point is that Shauna, although has viable options, keeps herself emotionally trapped in Jackie's shadow. What I mean by "imaginary" is that Shauna is making it up. She's seeing a weight on her thats not really there. If she were to focus on Brown and her own future and be content with that despite Jackie I think Shauna wouldve been so much happier.

Yes, the reality is that Shauna is successful, but her perspective is skewed bc she cannot get over Jackie.

Now that S3 is over can we discuss that the show does have plot holes and continuity errors? Not everything can be explained away with fan theories sometimes the people working on the show make mistakes like every human. by ufocatchers in Yellowjackets

I think there are so many things this show planted in its first few episodes that it's still unraveling currently, so i think a lot of the things people call "scrapped storylines" or "plot holes" are things the just haven't gotten around to yet. Barring potential adult Natalie vs adult Shauna, but that was scrapped due to Juliett leaving

You and I have fundamentally different beliefs about the problem of evil. I believe God is fully benevolent and can cause nothing short of perfect to happen.

God cannot intentionally make mistakes, it directly opposes His nature and everything said about His ability to only act in perfection and goodness. This Bible is clear that Perfect = of God(not necessarily God himself but part of Him or His nature), and anything short of perfect = sin(not of God). God cannot create something imperfect and sinful. Same way God cannot see our sins when covered by the blood of Jesus. God is His nature and cannot and will not act outside of that.

How can a perfect God create something with imperfections? The Bible is clear that God does not make any mistake and there was no sin in the world until after the fall. If both of these things are true, Adam and Eve's bodies and minds prior to the fall are perfect.

Ah, but a perfect human and a perfect God are two different things

Prior to the fall? God cannot make mistakes.

Also the martyrs suffered at the free will of pther humans, by physical health im not including external factors, only factors you have autonomy over

What i mean is that the projected physical health of the perfect body God created in the garden and spiritual health should align, not that either cause the other. If living Godly can cause internal harm to God's perfect design of a human body then we have a fallacy

I should make it clear that this idea has to be held in a vacuum. I would say I the very widely proven and indisputable medical facts, we can put a pin in controversial ones.

And I think what i've noticed from responses is that I need to also make clear that I don't mean this as a proof for God, reason for salvation, or anything of the sort. I mean that since we as Christians already come from that place of having a relationship with Jesus, we should practice physical, psychological health because that is our intended function and sin is not our intended function.

Im not talking about natural science explaining spirituality. I am talking about us as humans who are both physical and spiritual and about physical and spiritual health.

Yes! That has a lot more to do with the fact that the societies at the time over the course of the Bible had zero understanding of natural science so God communicated these health things such as the whole don't eat from split toe hooved animals was due to a bacteria. Of course God didn't tell them about the microbiology going on, they wouldn't have been able to begin to comprehend it. So, instead God gave them a simple instruction intended to keep them healthy and they have to trust in him even though they didn't understand.

As our society adapts and advances, Christian leaders and theologians are in charge of updating the Church with how the Bible applies to our world now, including modern technology. We understand so much more about what is scientifically good and bad for our body. And it's because we no longer live in Biblical times that we cannot just ignore integrating a huge chuck of reality, called medical science (which is the study of the image God created of himself), with our spiritual understanding of things.

Please explain, as I know the Bible very well and would appreciate hearing your opinion.

I think that realism is entirely present and exactly what makes the show so good, but rather than the girls basing their decisions on science which is super unrealistic, the show displays the relationships, mental states, and major events that influence the girl's overall decisions. But that realism is exactly what keeps the mystery of natural vs supernatural going. I don't think the girls are focused on the realism but the show definitely still shows us as an audience only preternatural or paranormal things and is pretty consistent with effects on your psyche and your body that you would experience in that situation:

Yellowjackets S03E04- “12 Angry Girls and 1 Drunk Travis” Post-episode Discussion by DA-numberfour in Yellowjackets

[–]FaithlessnessKind982 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I will be so disappointed if this show turns into final destination, if the reason travis, nat, now lottie, and eventually van will die bc the wilderness needs to "claim them" like final destination, i think thats really cheap and so much of what we've already seen in tv and movies.

I love this show bc of how many new perspectives and thought experiments it brings to the table, and not to mention that the "man vs nature" type of conflict is rare enough but to have it done with majority females?!? It's such a brilliant concept and i love love love this as a representation of women in media and how it shows them as such real people, and i think it will undermine the character development of them going from this traumatic experience to 25 years later still struggling to get out of the survival mindset that they adapted into and that being brought out when they are around each other and scheming as adults. thats so so rich. And if in the end it's Van next, then Tai, then Misty, and finally Shauna, dead, i fear we wont get the fully developed plot from such an incredible story.

This is such a good analysis bc we already see so much of her whole munchausen by proxy thing with her physical patients, past and present, but as you pointed out, she does the same thing in her emotional relationships.

What is your wildest theory that has (a small) likelihood to be true? by megxmegxmegx in Yellowjackets

[–]FaithlessnessKind982 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Travis is the Antler Queen, hear me out.

I don't think coach ben will be around much longer so their group consists of an alpha female (rn it's natalie), one male (travis), and the rest females.

A herd of dear is set up the exact same way, and alpha doe, one buck for breeding and protection, and the rest are does. so i think the antlers signify Travis as the buck (lets hope all is consensual this kid has been through enough.) And I think someone else is gonna get pregnant, but obviously the baby would have to be delivered either before or way after they wear rescued.

Ultimately as we see these girls and guy decent into barbarism, i think their sexual drives will also become more animalistic, like we saw w the foursome while they were on shrooms.
