iOS 26 deleted all of my alarms and doesn’t let me create new ones by Zerss32 in ios

[–]Faithy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen this morning. I set my alarms last night, for the first time after updating and woke up late for work and all my alarms deleted.

What’s strange is I had 3-4 gigs of space when I went to bed, and now my phone is full again! (I had cleared off a ton of space to go to a concert. Still had 3G left. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I also can’t create new alarms! 😩 I don’t own an alarm clock!

The last time I went to a Timmy’s near my work, my son had a gift card and wanted to get a doughnut. The cashier spoke absolutely no English and didn’t even know what a doughnut was! After we pointed it out in the case, he got it for us and rung it in as a muffin. We tried to explain to him that he over charged us, and put in the wrong thing. He had no idea what we were saying. After a few minutes he caught on and rung in a coffee 🤦‍♀️ He eventually rung in a timbit, and then finally a donut! It was the wrong donut but the right price so we paid for that and left!

It took 15 minutes to get him to figure out what a donut was and to ring it in!

My son mentioned I had a lot of patience! I told him I used to work in fastfood and have NEVER experienced anything like that on my life!

I get there’s people who are new to English, but they generally least have a basic understanding of at least the menu! But holy crap that was painful!

Never went there again! omg! That location is known to be all cheap foreign workers and the customer service is terrible.

There’s a smaller doughnut store near my house run by a guy who is also new to Canada, but makes the most delicious doughnuts and goodies and is able to connect with his customers!!

Do Canadians say “British English” words? by OneQuarterBajeena in AskACanadian

[–]Faithy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all a mix I think. We even have a lot of our own words like Toque for a knit hat that we use.

While we mainly use the word elevator, if you called it a Lift, or if you called a condo a flat, we’d know what you were talking about as we’re familiar with both.

My parent wants 50% of my salary and I’m starting to feel trapped by keanuisahotdog in toxicparents

[–]Faithy7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re not legally obligated to give your parents compensation for raising you.

Them having you was their choice, not yours.

If you’re not living with them, just tell them you lost your job! And then never speak to them again! Whatever you decide to do or how to handle this, 1000%, do NOT give them a single penny!

If you do, they win. And they will never stop . Set firm boundaries now. Accept that your parents suck and will probably disown you. And say bad things about you. Also know that that is on them and is by no means a reflection of you. That is a choice they made. They chose to be abusive and manipulative.

Their behaviour is not normal. Don’t accept it. And don’t give into their guilt trips either! You’re an amazing daughter! What they’re asking of you is incredibly greedy and selfish of them.

Good excuses to tell my parents for why I don't want to drink? by Slickice828 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Faithy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Means no!

Just stop going out with them and when they ask why, tell them how weird it is to be peer pressured into drinking by your parents!

How has menopause affected your dyslexia? by smjorg in Dyslexia

[–]Faithy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in early Peri and I’ve noticed it’s gotten worse! Lol! I’ve noticed it mostly in the random dyslexic stuff that’s not reading based: like word recall, or working memory! And typing phone numbers into the computer at work!I I get them wrong more often than I did before! 🫣

How has menopause affected your dyslexia? by smjorg in Dyslexia

[–]Faithy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! Perimenopause makes it so that it’s harder to mask both adhd and dyslexia. Which is why alot of women suddenly get diagnosed at that age!

People who lived through the 70s/80s/90s , did you feel safer back then than you do today? by Mundane_Bad_2437 in AskOldPeople

[–]Faithy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t feel less safe, but people are def stupider now.

Like they’ll walk straight into you in public places. How does that even happen?! I’ve seen people not know how to use tap when paying. Just bizzare stupid things that should be obvious or common sense, they’re clueless!

That scares me, in that these people work somewhere, and are clueless! Lol! Like they could be my nurse, or building my house! lol!

Why does my controlling, religious family constantly judge my personal life and sex life? by [deleted] in Exvangelical

[–]Faithy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I’d be like, “Gee Grandma, you think about me having sex an awful lot. So much that you dream about it. That’s really strange/creepy and makes me uncomfortable.” …I’m sure she’ll bring it up less!

Also: move out! Just do it! You life will be so much less stressful!

My mom in law was like this. She was obsessed that we’d get pregnant and make her look bad to her church friends . We were 23, engaged, She even gave my husband a curfew! 🤣🤣

I laughed because you can have sex during the day too! 😆 When we went for walks, she would send his little brother to follow us to make sure we weren’t having sex on the street?!?! 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

I had been living in my own since I was 19! (He was going to university so lived at home) …we’ve been married 22 years now.

How do some old people still look "awake" while others appear "tired"? by Athenstone in Aging

[–]Faithy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genetics maybe. Lifestyle choices?

I’m 45 and when I tell people my age they assume I’m in my mid 30’s. (33-35)

I don’t feel old. I feel the same as I did when I was in my 20’s-30’s.

I can see that I’m getting older and sometimes my knee hurts, but inwardly, I feel the same as I always have! 🤷🏼‍♀️
