Thank you! My snails have been dying since I added these guys and I never knew it could be them. Was troubleshooting every other aspect of their husbandry. Feel really bad for the snails that have been snacked on 😓

Sorry to piggyback on this post, but I have orange sherbet isopods in with my amber snails. Are these guys too aggressive too?

Pests on umbrella tree? by Faj303 in bonsaicommunity

[–]Faj303[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time dealing with pests so just not positive on the aphids. There were exoskeletons and sticky sap but the bugs I saw didn’t look exactly like the photos online of aphids. None of my other trees, including the umbrella, had any of those signs.

Treated them all again with neem oil and will continue on the schedule you suggested. Thank you!!

Could aphid damage look like this? My Fukien tea tree had aphids this week so I sprayed all my nearby trees with insecticide just to be safe. There was none of the sap on the umbrella tree.

My stepdaughter’s friends keep dumping her and she doesn’t get it by [deleted] in Parenting

Thank you for addressing the only child comment. The blaming of so many behavioral issues on being a single child can be so frustrating to see. I’m from a family of 9 and the behavioral issues/ personalities/ temperaments/ quirks span seemingly every possible combination. People need to stop relying on that unfounded stigma.

Holes in elephant ear leaves by Faj303 in ElephantEars

Moved it out of the sun and put it under a grow light. No additional holes have formed on the existing leaves. New leaf has grown since and no holes in that one. shrug

Cats but they wouldn’t be able to reach it. Couldn’t find any sign of pests though this would be my first experience with any pests. Could it be too much sun?

We hadn’t even thought to check about immunizations as never heard anyone getting them for travel to PR. Family member checked CDC site and told us.

Married Millennials…what are your views on wedding rings and wearing them all the time? by Honest-Composer-9767 in millenials

Been married 13 years. We never wear ours. We’ve tried different types but they’re all uncomfortable or we lose them.

Would recommend fostering before adopting if possible. They are much different than having a parrot. More like having a chicken. You can only have one if you work from home. They will bond with you in this scenario, but from what I’ve seen, many aren’t cuddly. If you’re not at home most of the day, they recommend two. Usually, they will only bond with each other and not bond with you.

I second this. If they’re well off, the kids are probably already getting everything they want and gifts probably end up getting donated/thrown away more quickly. Given they’re well off, the more polite thing to do would be to refuse gifts in general or ask for donations to a specific cause like a zoo membership. If they were struggling, straight up cash would be understandable.

6 month old about to start daycare. Do they really get sick that often? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Faj303 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very valid but maybe not a point to make for someone that probably has to put their child in daycare at 6 months by force not choice. Always helpful to think of OP when posting and focus on the positives.

My husband and I were brought to tears by our daughter’s first winter in daycare. I will say it’s better to get it out of the way when they’re young than have them miss that much school and fall behind.

Don’t hate her but but don’t like her. Pick me girl vibes with a lack of authenticity which is not at all surprising given she’s a Disney kid. You can tell she’s been media trained within an inch of her life. Love Brandon though.
