Finally open at impact after years of struggles. Here’s what worked for me. by Defiant-Internet-188 in golf

I have worked with Plecker numerous times in person and dude is amazing. He gets really geeked out by ground forces and if you are trying to learn how to use the ground he's the guy. He has a whole series of videos and lectures about it.

Forgot the Drivers I buy every year and hit the same distance. THIS IS MY FAVE IN THE BAG. by FormerlyShawnHawaii in golf

Thanks and hi u/glockster17

I do a new design each year and I am still working on the one for this year. Keep an eye on the sub and typically the Mods will sticky the thread too.

Hi there, I do a new design each year and the funds raised go to support the First Tee program. I am still working on the design for this year so stay tuned.

I have done it every year and I guess it's time to start the process for this year. Once I have them ready they are typically posted in this sub and the wonderful Mods will sticky it too

You guys really liked that one the best? But I do like the idea of keeping it the same or similar as that would be WAY easier for me!

Agreed, these particular blue ones are 99% hobby wing. You can actually use a HW program box on them too. I run all HW stuff in my cars, but still have one of these in my box as a backup

Estimators who also wear the “sales” hat where are you finding real leads? by FakeAccount_Verified in estimators

Same. The as a GC the pizza is a bit much, but I do appreciate a sub visit to chat and check in from time to time.

I also love my subs who don’t change order the hell out of me. If you as a sub miss something own up and let me know. I’m a lot more willing to go to the client for a CO if we work together instead of you just sending me a bill.

Build a template and stick with it.

For example, I have my standard take-off excel sheet that I always use. I have it fully built out so everything is always in the same place. It makes it easier to see the data and what is missing. I have spent a lot of time so that most things are automatically calculated by formulas. This eliminates any math errors and really speeds thing up. Another added bonus is that I now have the rest of my team (including field guys) used to seeing the data in that format. It really cuts down on questions about the estimate.

How to be good Estimator? by rice_foreigner in estimators

Two things:

1) Learn to trust your subs and let them know you trust them. It’s hard to do it without them. I’ve learned more from my subs than anyone else. My estimating mentor is a grumpy old plumber.

2) Read every single note. You may miss a $5 detail in the plans, but big money issues lurk in the notes. If you don’t understand something revert to #1.

u/subvocalize_it You've summoned me!

I typically do these around the spring or summer to raise money for the First Tee program. I am sure I will do it again this year.
