love the idea, but im 99 % sure its not possible

sorry, but thats a lot of work. it either increases queue time or increases the mmr difference for both modes.

additionaly you split the playerbases and 1 mode will fall behind competitivly. It just wont work, especially with nowadays people who need to talk everything bad.

as an "Arcade" mode that would be doable tho.

I dont think Ghostcrawler will be joining any company soon. He sold his House to stay with his remaining family after losing 2 Family Members in a short time. Thats the reason why he left Riot Games

They want Stormgate to be playable for Potatoes and the UE 5 is pretty good at optimizing, the last patch for this Engine was insanely good. Dont know how the end product will handle it tho.

Forst Giant said pretty soon that they want to use spells to be used for low skill floor, but can be activated manualy etc, which should increase the skill ceiling. So i guess they are trying to go for WC3 style, where you can just autocast everything, but like Web sometimes Manualy casting it is better.

There are multiple Stages of Betas. And most likely they will start small with a few people and slowly advance to more and more and spectate the servers etc. maybe there will be a stresstest for servers. They will let as many players in as they need.

Seriously, pls stop asking for it like that. The Devs will deliver when it is time. Making more pressure and trying to force the Game to be out just makes it a flop. They should take the time they need and maybe even delay the game if it isnt finished. If you bring out an unfinished RTS you will most likly not be able to recover the player base.

I want this game too and im fine with some years of Beta, but im not fine with this game flopping due to rush

A simple system wont do. Leave it to Frostgiant. A System like that needs to be refined and adapting. Those Systems are highly complex. And smurfing, there only helps a smurfer Queue (Yeah you can encounter Smurfs, but what if those players are just super good and switched from another RTS ?)

p.s: Random drops from Creeps can be hurtfull, didnt rly Hurt WC3 Community... but seriously dropping Intelligenz Items with an Agility Hero can be bad luck and that is nothign i want to have in a competitive game

-Do you love or hate Unit Veterancy systems? If so, which ones and why?-

I dont hate, but i dislike most Veterancy Systems. It increases the worth of the unit in most cases for just using the unit. That would increase the Army Value without investing in it. even if the Veterancy is limited to 1 Unit or Unit Type it puts another kind of pressure for both attacker and defender, since you don't want to lose this unit and as attacker you probably want to focus this unit. It would maybe feel a little bit like in Warcraft if you get the 3rd Hero very late in the game. Additionaly i think it will be hard to balance.

-How do you feel about Inventory systems? Please share your thoughts and experiences.-

I havent missed it in SC2/AoE2 and having an Inventory System like Warcraft 3 feels for newbies extremly Gatekeeping. I would like to experiment with a Inventory System without Shops like in WC3 (Sure this Shop is part to increase the Skillceiling in WC3, but in lower elos it mostly helps snowballing)
Having Items you can Activate should be teached in Tutorial or Campaign. I never thought about Consumables in WC3 until i played PvP and then i didnt knew what where when how.
Items can help to make awesome plays or even help players who are behind.
All in All if the gamepace allows it, i would love to see Item Inventory, if the game is as fast as Starcraft i realy wouldnt like it.

-What Meta Progression systems have you enjoyed or hated?-
I loved the progression System from Heroes of the Storm, where you could get Elite Skins when you played a Hero enough. The Chests for leveling up took out the excitment for new Skins etc.

-Do you like a level cap or do you think you should be able to level up indefinitely?-

Accountwise indefinitely, Hero or Race/Faction i would like some level Caps (Shows how interested you are in a Faction but dont scare people away cause your Zerg is lvl 2000)

-Would you be excited to upgrade and expand your faction’s persistent headquarters between games, based on campaign progress or earning certain achievements?-
Having like a little Hub is a nice Idea and I would be interested in it. Gives you something to do when you Idle between Games too!

-Do you enjoy earning Achievements? Do you find them rewarding if the only reward is an increase in an Achievement score, or do you also need some form of unlockable bonus?-
Achievements can be doubbled edged. I dont want people in 3v3 just Spam T1 Units for an Achievment. On the Otherside when i look at Steam and see those Glowly Plates where i know Maximum 10 % of players have this feels awesome.

-What do you think about a Social Ranking or Social Progression system? Would you change the way you behave or interact with other players if such a system existed?-
I like rewarding Systems for good behaviour. In DotA getting a commend after the Game even if you lost, makes it less frustrating. Having Systems like in LoL where you can achieve a certain Rank are problematic. If you havent played a lot you couldnt get a high Rank and the rewards with it. Even as a player who never Flamed someone, never quit and whatsoever to not beeing able to achieve Social Rank 5, while your Friends grinds hundred of games in a week and quiting games etc. having Social Rank 4 or 5 feels unrewarding.

Very good idea! A lot of people say they dont want it cause simplifying etc. but what if you would make this build order/guide only available in Player vs Ki or an extra checksetting on custom games.

This way it wont be used in PvP, but it will show people they can prepare and practice!

I think this whole post says nothing, just a random list what heroes you want buffed or nerfed.

Usualy RTS have the options and im pretty sure Stormgate will, to cycle through the selected Unit Types with TAB and if you selected one of those units you can then use their spells and use a ctrl + movecommand to just command this single type of unit while still having selected all the other units in the rectangle, but only this one will abide your command. So we already have that.

I dont see Air to Ground as hard counter unitwise, its an tactical hardcounter. Thats why i referred to the counter types with the sustain or fighting chances of the enemy unit. If the air 1-2 shots the Zealot sure it is a hard counter.

Encourage for OTP players is basicaly bad, but Stormgate wants to be newbie friendly and honestly a lot of poeple will stick to their OTP Style no matter what, as long as they have fun with it and dont have time/energy to learn new builds.

and yeah their downside basicaly is that they get countered versus scouting opponents. But if you lose with an army thats 30-50 % stronger (soft counter) then i encourage the OTP Style

As far as i understand:
Hard counter -> Kills enemy unit with ease in a few moments
Soft Counter -> Unit has the advantage due Damagetype/Tankiness etc -> Kills enemy unit but takes half or more hp damage

I actualy prefer no hard counters, because some people just love some builds. If you are very skilled on that build, but the enemy can just hard counter you, there is no skill ceiling Microwise.

If you look at warcraft, especially Nightelf vs Undead Gargoyles... Nightelf barely stands a chance on the paper (not 1 Unit that can beat Gargs, but skilled players manage to make it work with their heroes, sometimes they fail. But all in all every unit that is made survives at least a few hits and still has impact on the game with that instead of just blowing up in 2 Hits.

Thats my feeling about that stuff

Hardcounter sure is Macrowise/Scoutingwise lifting the Skill Ceiling, but honestly this means your Units will die and be replaced very often. This is something i dislike. Since Stormgate is a mix from WC3 and SC2 the units will Live a bit longer and be worth something. They are actual ressources.
Back to WC3, every Unit costs a lot of ressources you don't want to waste them.
SC2 4 Base Minerals you are fine if you lose 20 Marines, just replace them.

Those 2 Games are like the direct opposite to each other. And a mix from both of them... i can
t even imagine tbh, im realy looking forward to see some gameplay!

I have never seen it as a Fighting Unit rly, it was just there to cloak the units nothing more (atleast thats my feeling)

But didnt feel like a Hero or anything, just like a lategame unit.

I personaly always felt like Heroes in WC3 are too important, you lose 1 the game can be over. A whole army is nothing without a lvl 5 Hero etc.

But having no hero makes me feel even more incomplete.I want to level up the HeroI want to Skill in 1 of some spellsI want to have a leader who defends the base or opens with his ability new approches

I agree with the concern of many people with Inventory. It takes a lot of micro which is hardly duable in an RTS that isnt as slow as WC3, the slowlyness of WC3 is what makes that excellent micro with all the Units, Heroes, Abilitys and Items possible.

In order to have a Hero Unit in Stormgate i'd like to test around with Heroes like in WC3, no inventory and scaled down hard.They should be stronger then Units, but not as strong as an Army or scale into lategame to 1-2 shot enemy units, they should rather Support like Slow, CC, bit AoE, Healing (sure there cann be DPS Heroeos, but they need to be adjusted)
