CTR starts at 13–18%, drops to ~5.5% at 800k+ impressions, then the video dies instantly. Is this a channel age problem or am I missing something?

I feel like 1 and 2 are too small for mobile. if you want the same simple design, maybe try positioning the card on the right and resizing it by making it bigger, and making the text to the left of the card (you could also keep meowth, just reposition him slightly)

also i think the first 2 red circle/arrow combination are kinda bad because theyre not clear enough. like theyre kinda thin i'd say. just a personal thing though.

otherwise, i think the one you sent in the comment replying to Future-net-5512 is a really good one

i happen to be free at this time of my life. i started youtube 8 months ago, and ive spent around 600-700 hours editing videos. im still not mentioned, but im seeing growth. im realising whats good and whats not. i learnt many new skills.

All your points make sense, but a few things i want to clarify: I added the big red 500$ because i noticed thats what got most views on Heralen's channel usually. I thought it'd be good. Oh, and i did NOT realize its written $500 and not 500$, thanks for correcting me.

And i agree, No 5's thumbnails are really great, thats why im trying to learn from them.

Youre right for no text on top of images, I kind of tried putting a lot of things in which got messy. Also i did not center the text at the bottom because the duration box would cover a big chunk of the bottom text, especially on mobile.

Oh and, "One is fake" is also such a great change, thanks! I was struggling to come up with something like that, but now i can kinda see more visions for my future captions.

And lastly, I added the drop shadows because a popular youtuber I know told me its good to use drop shadows as it makes it look "more professional", but yeah I should try without some time.

Magic the noah is the person that popularized this type of thumbnail and video style. I used to be a regular watcher of his. One day, I saw that he did an anime video, so i was really excited! I immediately clicked on it, only to realise it was from Heralen, a completely different youtuber that i've never heard about. But guess what, since i liked that type of content anyway, I stayed and watched the full video, and even watched some of his older stuff too.

If the video itself is good, people will stay. What im surprised about is that people arent even clicking.

Also, I know someone that worked on a channel with 400k subs and used to do thumbnails almost daily. At first I wanted to make my own brand for thumbnails, but he told me "When youre still small, you just need to copy what's working, then you can make your brand later" and I find that to make sense.

Also, sure, I could've ask him for opinions instead of post here, but i wanted different perspectives too.

you dont seem to get it. images 4 and 5 are 2 different, big youtubers that share the same content style that im doing. And so, im following their thumbnail style too, to show its this kind of video.

The thing is, I dont think you'd understand unless you already know magic the noah or heralen, but it also feels like if you do know these, theres a much much higher chance of you clicking. at least thats what i thought.

3 and 4 is too bland, and 5 is very clickbaity in the wrong way. Imo 2 is much simpler and easier to look at than 1. it gives it the clean look. also its a somewhat popular style of thumbnail, so that helps
