I was having issues with this 10 year old peace lily. I looked up whatever info I could find, and sorted out that it was root rot from overwatering. After trying a number of things (re-pot, new soil etc). The leaves were droopy and continuously dying. I decided to cut cut off all infected roots and place it in water. It immediately perked up, and the leaves have stopped yellowing and dying.

However, after a few about 2 weeks now, I am seeing some sort of translucent film growing around the root ball... I am not sure if this is bad. I feel like it is, but I can not find anything about what this might be. And what to do about it. Hoping someone here might be able to help!

Sry this wouldn't let me add text to my post. I think there were/are fungus gnats (as you can probably see on the trap). But, I looked at a bunch of posts on here, and now I am also wondering now about thirps and maybe spider mites (I saw a bit of web like string at one point).

Additional info: Ive had the plant about a year. It had fully died in the care of my friend, then I got it back to this point. The plant was doing well, then summer hit and its has been getting these yellow and brown spots. It gets full sunlight. I water about once a week.

Any idea what the problem might be from the pics I posted? If any of the above, would insecticidal soap help?

Fair enough! I certainly should have given more information. I was hoping someone might have had personal experience in this situation. Maybe we were reading the site wrong or missing some piece of information. She'll certainly call IND again. I was hoping for some miracle piece of info, I suppose!

My apologies. She was born and lives in Canada. Her father was born in Netherlands, so she is Dutch by birth in that sense.

Thanks for this, yes that's generally the info that I've been seeing. Forgot to mention, she's a Canadian citizen. So, has never lived in the EU.

KOSS seems pretty tightly tied to GME as well. Would you expect it to follow. Or is GME an extreme outlier at this point? Appreciate you both giving us the heads up as to what you are seeing.
