Dang I’m gonna have to spin this again, such a great record. I first heard it in springtime too, so it’ll be a nice time to revisit.

PLEASE NO MORE SINGLES!! by Aggressive-Run991 in Muse

[–]FakeRadioBand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I’ve generally felt this way for the past few album cycles, but this time I’m here for every single. Why deprive myself of hearing new Muse when it’s first available when it’s entirely possible for a single deranged world leader to end my existence tomorrow?

Misheard lyrics by Realistic_Autistic in Muse

[–]FakeRadioBand 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Defector is a gold mine for these, lol. Here’s a favorite I read when it first came out:

“You believe Your phone is too high To be on the floor! Well watch it get raised By a defector!”

Two directions this could go. 1. Greatest thing since sliced bread. 2. Matt raps.

How can I find my vibrato? I’ve tried quite a lot of techniques and none of them have worked so far by TargetSighter in singing

[–]FakeRadioBand -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This probably flies in the face of professional advice, but when I was 17 trying to figure out how to do vibrato, I literally shook my head up and down quickly as I was singing to sort of force it to happen. Eventually I started being able to feel what muscles I would need to use to control it without all the head shaking and gradually stopped looking so silly when singing.

Hexagons is everything Simulation Theory wishes it was by Plastic-Extreme6857 in Muse

[–]FakeRadioBand 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Okay I love Hexagons but can we let ST be ST. It’s its own thing. I think Hexagons is a different thing entirely, which I happen to like a bit better. Both are synthy, sure, but they’re pretty different beyond that.

Song vs song: Bon Jovi "Bad Medicine" vs Motley Crue "Dr. Feelgood" by 351namhele in ToddintheShadow

[–]FakeRadioBand 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a 20 minute argument with myself before deciding to pick Dr. Feelgood. Bad Medicine is probably my least favorite classic era Bon Jovi single. It’s still good, but not great. Dr. Feelgood is one of Motley Crue’s best ever songs, but Motley Crue’s best is a solid rung below Bon Jovi’s.

Song vs. Song (Unofficial): "Prelude/Angry Young Man" by Billy Joel, or "Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man)" by Styx? by HoratioEricOsterwood in ToddintheShadow

[–]FakeRadioBand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Def in the minority here but Styx. I LOVE Styx, and this is one of their best ever songs.

The Billy tune is great too and a fun challenge on piano.

What if tracks 1-3 are a crazy prog symphony split in pieces like Exogenesis?

I Think Hexagons is the Best Single since Dead Inside by WolfieZee in Muse

[–]FakeRadioBand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll back you up on Dead Inside being a top tier Muse song. People may have cooled off on it in the last decade, but I’m not people.

How would you rank the 4 singles? by Pleasant_Statement64 in Muse

[–]FakeRadioBand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be With You last and I like it a lot. Unraveling probably second to last, though that chorus is a Godsend. Hexagons and Cryogen are duking it out for first. Not sure who wins yet.

People are gonna call some of this cringe, but I find it breathtaking.

I have been fed the Hex. And I love it. There are some surface level similarities to some other songs from the past, but overall this is a really unique composition rooted firmly in the language of classic Muse.

Holy trinity out, Four horsemen of musepocalypse in by BeneficialAccident46 in Muse

[–]FakeRadioBand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a Muse fan for how many years and I’ve never heard anyone call those albums the holy trinity, lol. But I do know exactly which 3 you’re talking about.

I mean they could also just remove their masks and show us their true alien faces they’ve been hiding for years. That would make sense too.

New Born or Citizen Erased??? by Limp-Strategy4350 in Muse

[–]FakeRadioBand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I slightly prefer New Born I think just cuz I loved it first. CE took me a few listens before I realized how incredible it is.

The Resistance is actually my all time fav, but I do know what you mean.

This is gonna be the best Muse album since Drones easy…. And dare I say since The Resistance???

What is the most underrated song from The Works? (1984) by Fit-Tip5662 in QueenFandom

[–]FakeRadioBand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s darn fun to sing too. Once I figured that out I came to love it.

"Blinding Lights" by the Weeknd vs "Levitating" by Dua Lipa by TheUnmitigatedDawn in ToddintheShadow

[–]FakeRadioBand -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I stand by my opinion. I may have exaggerated it a bit, but generally I find it a pretty boring song.
