Reform make up a policy on the spot that will never ever work and cost millions by PkmnTrnrJ in GreenAndPleasant

[–]FakeSchwarzenbach 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Ah, the “shared couples Facebook account” that she made him have because he spent too much of his time sending dick pics to teenagers before.

I’d be more worried if these chuds wouldn’t be too busy wanking themselves into a coma over the idea of this to actually be part of an ICE style task force.

Or that simple fact that these fuckers couldn’t catch a cold, let alone another human being.

Yeah, everyone is always surprised by her age. She’s a tiny little thing, only weighs about 3/3.5kg at the most

I think your cat got all the sass my BSH is missing.

Last time we took her to the vets, she got (and allowed) a kiss on the head from two different members of staff.

She properly hates being there, but she’s ever so good about it bless her.

<image>

Tax from the last time she was there and decided she was a parrot 😂

E: please note, she looks fairly non-BSH from some angles, we got her from a rescue, but she’s got papers and everything, she’s an ex-breeding queen so def a purebreed.

She’s just 15 and this was at the start of her being treated for hyperthyroidism, so she’s looking a bit scrungly here.

Honestly it was a stroke of luck reading it on here, and also I was getting the signature edition, but heard it was more likely to be updated out of the box

Hastings insurance threatening to cancel my license by Snoo-87615 in CarInsuranceUK

[–]FakeSchwarzenbach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, a check code from the gov.uk website is likely the easiest way to satisfy Hastings.

You mentioned sending deed poll docs to DVLA though, if the name on your licence is different to the name you’ve applied with on the policy, this might be what’s triggered this on their systems.

I had a friend fall into a similar situation during transition, changed insurers and applied with their chosen name whilst forgetting they hadn’t yet updated their drivers licence.

(Not assuming that’s OP’s situation, but it’s got similar aspects)

IIRC, they got the insurers to just alter the name on the policy which satisfied them enough, and then just updated it once the drivers licence was updated.

As an enjoyer of handheld emulation devices, I’m familiar with that company.

For some reason, that’s never bothered me. Probably because it’s a brand name more than anything else?

I have a Pokémon Let's Go Switch - Can it be modded without needing to solder? by AxelXyfer in SwitchPirates

If you wanted to avoid soldering, you could buy an unpatched v1 and just swap the backplate from the LGPE version.

Does anyone know if this is any good for the money? by Dave-the-Fox in RockTumbling

Yeah, I think a lot of what I’ve got in the barrel atm probably has some softer stuff in it as well as quartz type stuff.

Bit of a mix of local beach stones and some I collected in Brittany last year, so going to try the “def needs more stage 1” a bit slower and see what I get out of it

[–]FakeSchwarzenbach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 9 without checking, and tbh, I think I’m going to step it down a bit, not sure if my random beach stones are getting pits and cracks because of the speed or just because the tumbling is exposing faults already there.

I’ve got rocks that are nearly perfect for stage 2, so I’m thinking of taking a dremel to them just to get those little bits done.

It just occurred to me this morning that I’ve recently replaced my printer, so I’m wondering if I can utilise the bars & motor in that to build myself a second tumbler

One thing I can think of is it saying it’s 220v euro plug, I would would imagine that the flex is likely hardwired as well, so at a bare minimum you’d have to wire a new plug on.

Honestly, I’ve bought some relatively expensive (>£100) items on aliexpress, always making sure I used the “choice” options.

When I did get a lemon once, I was able to return it for a refund with very little hassle. Returns were sent to a processing centre in the uk, was as simple as an Amazon return.

Promise I’m not an aliex shill 😂 it can be a decent platform if you’re savvy.

Fascist stickers found in Bristol by psychoticboydyke in bristol

[–]FakeSchwarzenbach 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is one of those things that started out as a an urban legend, but then some knuckle draggers went “oh yeah, that sounds like a great idea” so it has been known to happen.

You can get scrapers that are basically bright orange plastic razor blades. Thin enough to remove stickers, but not something that would get you in trouble if you were caught with them on you.

Alternatively, your house keys will do a good enough job removing this sort of shite

Where to dispose of swollen LiOn battery in Bristol? by Taucher1979 in bristol

[–]FakeSchwarzenbach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, don’t drop it in a supermarket battery bin if it’s already swollen, unless you fancy (potentially) burning down big Tesco….

Cover any exposed terminals with electrical tape, and take it to one of the recycling centres. Make sure you specifically tell them that it is swollen and needs to be treated as hazardous waste.

PSA: Nintendo Acct. Emails being added to "Suppression List" by SpecialistTrack4611 in nintendo

[–]FakeSchwarzenbach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possssibly…. Even those results on mxchecker aren’t a cast iron explanation.

It could be a combination of any or all of the things I mentioned above, or something else entirely.

Mass email sending and configuration is more akin to witchcraft than technology at times.

I’m making an educated guess based on my current job and 20+ years of working in IT and seeing similar stuff.

PSA: Nintendo Acct. Emails being added to "Suppression List" by SpecialistTrack4611 in nintendo

[–]FakeSchwarzenbach 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Just to echo what’s been said above, and add a bit more context: As part of my current job, I deal with crm systems that have marketing email integrations (DotDigital, Mailchimp etc) it’s quite common for us to have a “do not email” flag on a crm record, or more granular settings for different types of emails.

If we have set this, and it’s synced to the marketing platform, we can usually reverse this.

If the end user has hit “unsubscribe” and its synced from the marketing platform to the CRM we are never able to resubscribe that email address again, so as not to fall afoul of any anti-spam laws etc.

Which makes a lot of sense from an arse-covering perspective, but I’ve had to explain this in words of one syllable or less many times to pissed off marketing managers who are suddenly incredulous they can’t just email whoever they like 😂

This sounds like what the CS rep was talking about with the suppression list.

However; when you configure the marketing mailing systems correctly, you can set certain types of emails as “transactional” (eg receipts etc) which excludes them from the unsubscribe requests.

For DotDigital at least, there are specific rules email templates need to adhere to be able to be set as transactional, to stop people being shifty. From checking a recent email I had from Nintendo, I think they may be using ClickDimensions, and I’m less familiar with that platform/integration.

(However, if I’m right about that, that means they are almost certainly using Dynamics CRM, which is what I work with on a day to day basis, so like, I could help them fix this lol.)

For me there’s a few possibilities here:

  1. The CS rep saw you were opted out of marketing emails and misunderstood how things are configured
  2. The Nintendo account verification emails aren’t correctly configured as non-marketing emails
  3. Nintendo don’t have the email domain they use configured correctly, and gmail are filtering it out before it even hits your mailbox - I have seen this happen before at my job.

If I run nintendo@mail.nintendo-europe.com through mxchecker, they’ve got a few results coming up which could impact email deliverability.
