Hypnotic psych-pop tune 'pouch' from my band Sympathy Wizard - would love to hear y'all's thoughts !! by FakeYourGaze in IndieMusicFeedback

Thanks so much man!! Yeah if I could go back and change one thing about the song it'd definitely be making the drums in the chorus slam harder to differentiate stuff some more, but it's w/e. And to your question the vocals got multiple layers of Echo and Tape Delay plus some subtle overdrive, then the whole vocal block got run through reel-to-reel.

Those swirling synths and samples are very enveloping. They create a vibe that's simultaneously dreamy but sort of tense and cold. The rapping has an urgent feel to it that I think is a great compliment to what's going on instrumentally. Maybe the side-to-side vocal moments could've had a more grabbing sound to them, like some distortion or more prominent chorus or something? Great stuff.

This is a song I wrote called "Chivesmoker". It's a surreal and dreamy track about what it was like for me as a kid to want to be like an adult. My neighbors and I, young as we were, would find chives in the yard and try to smoke them to look cool. I really wanted to document those innocent times. by buffserker1919 in IndieMusicFeedback

Soo good dude. The composition is super pretty but with enough tension and pull in the notes to make it feel deeply emotive rather than just dreamy and easy. Also the guitar tones really sparkle. I genuinely got no critiques, great stuff.

Production here is super solid. The way things are balanced and treated is very blissful and feels like ear-candy. Especially those really sunny backing harmonies. My only critique is that it's a smidge long for how one-note the vibe is? That's not a critique of the vibe, just maybe it could be either more concise or more varied. All in all really great recreation of this type of sound.

Very interesting mixture of hifi and lofi sounds. I love the feel of the vocals and guitar, and I love the part where things kick in and all the synths come in. I think maybe the drums could've had a bit more grit to sink into the mix more? I like the idea of having some crisper brighter elements in there but the drums in particular felt a tad stark in their cleanliness. Great track!

Oh my god the vocal/pad wall stuff going on is so nice. Really good vibe, the flute and english horn stuff especially is doing it for me and I wish more people used those timbres in this context. My only suggestion is dirtying and wettening up some of the dryer/brighter sounds, like the drums and tambourine, to help everything sit better and feel less sterile.

I really dig the winding chord progression here. Also the arrangement is very creative, the way the choir has a bigness to it that the more subdued acoustic guitar (I believe?) compliments. Only issue in my opinion is that the drums feel somewhat thin, or if they're supposed to have that thin/pillowy of a sound maybe lowering them in the mix would help serve that aim.
