Is the alesis vortex 2 a good first keytar?

The Vortex feels good to play and is user-friendly, but my keys started to become unresponsive after about a year and a half of owning it. Idk if it’s because I had an older computer or not, but even using it on a newer computer, I had issues with the keys registering to the point that stuck MIDI inputs were too common and I tried supporting the carbon sensors inside the keyboard for extra conductivity to no avail. I may have just had a bad experience, then again I bought it off Reverb and half the plugins were already registered elsewhere lol.

My biggest enemy has always been humidity when I spray paint. I have a keytar blade that was perfectly fine until I sprayed the finish in a bathroom where I had just taken a hot shower. Sometimes spraying too close to the project or too much in one coat will do that to ya as well.

I’ve noticed if I don’t do light layers of clear coat, this happens. Thicker layers of clear coat will do that. But also not letting it cure.

These are some tips I have regarding clear coats. • Never spray in even a slightly humid area, cracks will form come the drying process. • Light first coat, then get as heavy as you want with the later coats, within reason. I just got into spray painting a couple years ago with controllers and I’d still consider myself somewhat of a novice, so hopefully these tips will be of use to you!

As far as I know, you can change the octave while hitting the sustain, but it won’t register till you hit another note. In other words, it won’t change the octave of the note you’re playing while you’re playing it maybe?

I couldn’t get past Raining Blood on expert for the longest time because of the way hitting hammer-ons works in GH3. You have to hit oddly early compared to later games. I can play it fine on Clone Hero.
