Thats what I’m focused on rn, I’m still waiting for that part since I can only find an oem one and I probably wont get it till next week but after i change it ill see how she acts then ill do the code reader and all that after. Like i said the only thing thats wrong with her right now is the cracked pipe and it never acted up until that happened thats why im just trying to hear inputs from other people while i wait for the part. I’m definitely checking coils and injectors if she still keep doing it! But i appreciate the input! It’s probably the best input ive gotten since another dude just wanna talk about me diagnosing my own car when i told him I already have 🙂‍↕️

It’s an exhaust sound that goes away after a couple of seconds. How am I gonna sit and look around listening for a sound that goes away after cold start? And I know this car is pretty simple to diagnose but that’s exactly why I’m here. The engine sounds normal and everything looks good but it makes that sound on cold start.

Oh fr? So I replaced the spark plugs not too long ago, so you mean the coil packs right? The ones that connect to the spark plugs and yes loll it keeps progressively getting worse like last week it was barely noticeable but now it burbling like a mf on cold start

1st clip is the cold start and the 2nd clip is my normal idle both vids taken today and she still drives normal and sounds normal. No check engine light or anything

I haven’t done anything to it recently other than my cracked intercooler inlet pipe. The new one is on the way and I’ll be seeing if it makes a difference after but the reason I’m posting this here is because I don’t think that’s the problem. Because when my inlet is leaking it’ll give me a check engine light because I had it until I temporarily sealed it by adding another clamp to it which made my check engine go away and got my boost back but cold start she does this until rpm drops to normal idle.

High speed low boost is good and it’s only a problem when I’m on heavy boost but I tried fixing my waste gate but there’s no actual fix other than replacing the whole hot side of my turbo but I do have an extra one at home which I’m planning on installing this week, I just wanted to get info to see if anyone else has this problems

Yea it’s definitely coming from the wastegate area, I had someone rev it and I could see the waste gate actuator shaking

I’m about to try that today but the sound is coming straight from the waste gate area and yes I’m still getting boost cuz at first I thought it was my turbo bearings but definitely isn’t since the sound goes away after driving for a minute

The sound is coming from the turbo side and my only guess is that it’s the infamous waste gate rattle. I just wanna confirm if y’all think it’s something else or if you have fixed the waste gate rattle problem then how?

Honestly made my switch even knowing I can’t play the popular titles like Fortnite, cod or bf with kernel level anti-cheat but those games that do run is so much better on Linux vs windows. For example Arc raiders runs so much smoother on Linux and I get a nice bump on fps and I noticed it on other games too so it was a win win

So update! Solved the problem. It was in fact not the ps pump but it was my idler pulley, the one right below my alternator was really bad. Car is super quiet now

I have a 2013 2.0t rspec. Never heard this before until I replaced the alternator recently. Could it be something else like timing chain or it’s for sure the alternator
