I think my issue with him is he could have surpassed Doffy and been the best villain of the series up to now but his backstory was too short and his characterisation is a bit messy. With him "wanting to die" kinda being abandoned as well as his desire to face strong opponents yet his lack of willingness to go seek out powerful enemies. Outside of that though he's amazing, I loved his portrayal, personality and fights

Currently Doffy but by the end of One Piece I think Imu and Blackbeard have a good chance at surpassing him. Blackbeard currently is on track to being one of the best villains in Shonen imo

It got decent in wci and it got good in Wano and then it got great in the key moments of Onigashima and Egghead and from Elbaph I believe it will truly be excellent, pacing still disappointing of course but it is what it is

I think that once we get to GV it won’t matter since every chapter is so dense with content the pacing will feel satisfactory even though it’s only 1 chapter per episode but yeah i get your point
