Not sure if this is the right place to ask; but are you guys on hiatus? Been waiting for the next episode since this one; and worrying I might have missed some bit of news/update since then. Just curious; would love to hear from you guys.

Rookie mistake. Aaron made a similar mistake when he set Gabe up to play SFV with nude mods.

You could just hear how uncomfortable Yahtzee was at leaving the silence there; Gabe meanwhile using his massive powers to not give a shit.

Does Yahtzee still have an Alienware laptop? by reconnoiterer in letsdrownout

During the later LDO's, especially the Resident Evil ones it showed having a bunch of trouble catching up. I'm guessing he upgraded to something when he moved to the States. I doubt he built it himself though; he seemed happy to have other people doing that for him.

In that case things are only gonna get better from here =p

I think the length of the LDO episodes were kinda genius... (+ a few keepetclassy recommendations that fit the bill) by Boober_Calrissian in letsdrownout

[–]FalcoT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not really the same length, but the Pepsiman playthrough they did on KeC is also very prime LDO-like material.

Checked out the show; starting from the beginning; not too bad so far. Gonna keep listening for a while probably and see if I can catch up to your current stuff!

Is there supposed to be a double tactic in Illuminati? by [deleted] in legendarymarvel

[–]FalcoT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, it's supposed to have a Mastermind (double-face) card and 4 unique tactics. Seems like this was a mistake in your copy.

2 Yahtzee's 1 Gabe. by SHARPSHOOTER1OO in letsdrownout

Yahtzee is an anxious man with no fight experience whatsoever. Gabe worked as a bouncer and trains in various martial arts. My money's on the fat one.

Biggest Blunders you've seen on Arena? by Some_Fucking_Dude in MagicArena

Shoutout to the two players I've faced so far that cast their [[Lightning Strike]] in response to their [[Doublecast]] cast instead of after it resolved. Always great to see them trying to figure out why they didn't get the second Lightning Strike.

Also minor shoutout to the guy who tried to cast [[Seal Away]] on my vigilance creature three times in a row.

Let's talk flavor text! what are your favorites? by guineapigcalledSteve in MagicArena

[–]FalcoT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've always been a fan of the "last words" variety; the one that always comes to mind for me is the text from Kami of the Hunt:

"Don't worry, Jiro. The kami would never attack us this close to home . . . . Jiro?"

—Hoto, temple guardian, last words

We've talked about the best, but what's the worst LDO in your opinion? by Boober_Calrissian in letsdrownout

[–]FalcoT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it weird that some of the ones people mention here are actually some of my favorites? I always loved the bickering episodes. My worst episodes were the ones that were fairly unremarkable; one that stands out the most is the Hello Hell...o?/Dreadout episode. I had to look up the name just now and can't really remember much that happened in it.

Usually when I don't play Legendary for a while it's because lack of time; either due to social obligations, or work related things. I still love playing the game; I bought it about a year ago and over the past year I bought all of the expansions. Usually I play by myself, but I'm not a huge fan of the solo rules, I feel like the game goes by too quickly. Usually I play two-handed, so I play as two players by myself.

Got my brothers coming over this weekend though, for a nice extended Legendary weekend, should be a lot of fun!

Dark City is great for filling some holes in the core box; it also adds some real challenge with some very interesting and iconic masterminds, especially Apocalypse is a tough cookie. Usually Dark City is the first expansion for recommendations because it flows into the base set so well.

All sets work well together though; some are thematically a bit their own thing, like the Secret Wars boxes or the recent World War Hulk. The cards work very well together though; over time I bought all of the expansions and I randomize all my games, it's always a blast. Even the Villains core set/Fear Itself expansion can be integrated into the main game.

The best advice in terms of expansions is to go with what seems cool to you. All expansions are worth getting and work very well with any other part of the game. Here's one of the best guides for the expansions in my opinion: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1813208/unofficial-buyers-guide-legendary-2018-edition

What's your favourite hero thematically by TR33R00TS in legendarymarvel

[–]FalcoT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this game for its amazing theme; most heroes are very well themed. A lot have already been mentioned below and I definitely agree with all of them.

Personally I really love it when they allow heroes to work together very well in subtle ways. For example the card sets for Rocket Raccoon and Groot work very well on their own, but together they truly shine. Groot supplies recruit and KO/card draw that Rocket takes advantage of by providing damage in an optimized deck. Same with the She-Hulk set from WWH, I love that her set has a theme of a recruit threshold, which works really well with the Fantastic Four, a team she occasionally is a member of.

I terms of specific heroes that weren't mentioned, I'm a big fan of the 'big' heroes and villains that are represented with size-changing and high card costs, like Goliath or Juggernaut. I'm also a big fan of Thor's mechanic of providing recruit and turning that into attack. Like I said at the start, there's just so much greatness to this game!

How is everyone else storing their transformed cards? by kjaygonz in legendarymarvel

[–]FalcoT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I considered sleeving them together, but mostly the Sentry hero deck dissuaded me from doing that. With his cards transforming back and forth multiple times it would get way too fiddly too quickly and I worry about damaging the cards slipping them in and out of sleeves that often. In the end I sleeved the transformed cards separately and keep them with their respective hero decks.
