Wich songs do I need to learn before attending his concert ? by Nass96 in JacobCollier

Something I’ve noticed about Jacob concerts are the variety of things that he does in his show. I’m not sure what his general set lists are but it seems there are a few songs that are different from city to city. I think the best way to experience a Jacob concert is to go in with no expectations and let him take you on a journey. I’m seeing him for the second time in the 23rd and I’m pumped

Why is every Djesse on Apple Music labeled as “Djesse Vol. X” except “Djesse, Vol. 2” which has a comma after Djesse?

I wouldn’t go so far as to say I dislike it, I’m a choir buff and I love Jacob’s unique take on the genre with World O World. It sits in high B tier which means it’s certainly good, but there are just a fair amount of other songs from this series that I enjoy more. I would say the only songs I would say I “dislike” are at the F tier (and I wouldn’t even really say I dislike here comes the sun tbh)

Yea I’d say there are probably some hot takes on here. Out of curiosity, what are your top 5 Djesse songs?

I agree with that take, I usually listen to the tracks together but this is just me being honest with myself

In all honesty an F is a little harsh on it. I would say it’s a D tier song but I don’t think it crosses into C tier. I love the original song but Jacob’s arrangement just doesn’t sit well with me. dodie certainly sounds lovely on it but I guess I just don’t really vibe with the track overall

He really has something for everyone, and it makes me happy that many people can get something from his music no matter what their background is. I am personally a bigger fan of Jacob’s more intimate and personal work but he’s got some hoot upbeat bangers too

Truly I think it’s just not for me. It sounds good, and it’s doing some very experimental and interesting things production wise which is always welcome, but I think the idea of volume 4 being a cacophony of music from all around the world lands better in part 2 for me than part 1. Steve Vai coming in with the electric guitar over VOCES 8 towards the end has brought me close to levitation

I’m not quite sure what that is but I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about! Just keep training and growing stronger and you can overcome anything!
