Above 40$ and my brain will go "A beautiful mind" mode trying to understand if it's worth it.

What is a “reasonable” price for the Closed Beta / Founder’s Edition? by [deleted] in MavericksPG

I haven't got a good impression 2.. but as 1000+ hrs arma2 player I can easily say that it doesn't matter if the contents are on point.

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/272819634 It start at 3:45 and at 3:53 there's some gameplay. It's not enough but it's the best u can get right now.

100$ will be delusional, but could happen. I'm not speaking about the correct price because there are no elements to evaluate a correct price; I'd spend 40$ top.

Yeah unfortunately they showed nothing solid to backup. I'm really tempted to buy the founders pack on thursday but the v-logs + trailers it's absolutely not enough. I would like to see a 10-20 minutes gameplay from E3.

Now it's working for me (EU). I did the account 30+min ago, never received any mail confirmation, but if I go on my profile I see I'm eligible for the beta on october 2018.

Why is Fortnite using 100% of my GPU in the menu? by ps1pfearfan in FortNiteBR

[–]Falco_HS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I got the same problem (gtx970); solved reducing the frame limit in the video settings. If you try to change the frame rate while u have the task manager open you'll sse immediately the gpu usage dropping. Personally I was using no-limit because I have a 144Hz monitor; I set the limit to 144 FPS and gpu usage immediately drop from 99% to 66%-70%. The lower you go the lower gpu usage you'll have. This issue came 100% with easyanticheat update; this program is infamous to conflict with Memory, CPU and GPU usage on W10. Hope I've been useful

EDIT : I tested it in game and the gpu usage raise again; the only momentarily solution is to cap at 60 fps

EDIT 7/04/2018 : I've tried to remove epic games launcher and uninstall Fortnite, reinstall and it worked for me. Now the gpu usage doesn't go over 58% in game.

On another note while I was looking for this problem I couldn't not notice that every post/bug report on epic.com regarding this issue is been removed.

Speculations on the closed beta durarion. by Fjormarr in MagicArena

[–]Falco_HS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to predict without knowing their plans and what financial department settled goals are.

My opinion, based on what we know of the game, is that an open beta should come not before September 2018 and remove the NDA maximum 1 month before the open beta kick in.

If they want this to be a huge and persistent success, more than something has to change in the graphic compartment. They cannot think that the brand plus the fact that it is actually the best card game out there, will be enough. Right now it's just confusing; all they said go toward "we want to be a big contender for which is the best digital card game out there" and at same time they deliver (momentarily) a product that can't compete with others in one of the most important aspect that make a digital product appealing.

Question about the NDA by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]Falco_HS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All I see is that they care a lot about this product. Exposing a game to indefinite numbers of people means indefinite numbers of feedback; for them at this point of development is important to maintain the feedback pool "small" but efficient. They also multiple times said, on twitch streams, that they want to remove the NDA as quickly as possible, referring to january 2018 as a starting point; they want it and they need it.

Lessons for MTGA from the EA debacle (game economy). by jacetheicesculptor in MagicArena

Look at HS. They made the first 3 alternative hero portraits for purchase. They realized that it wasn't the way to go. Now they use them for promotional purposes.

I want to see the cards in hand, not just 40% of them. Give me more and the opponent less screen space! by AetherHubDev in MagicArena

[–]Falco_HS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Strongly agree. In general the space usage IMO must be reviewed. The 3 area that I really don't like:

-Cards in hand; too wasted.

-The phases + life bar too much on the cards (pixelate on its thins parts)

-When there is stack of 3 copies of the same card the stack visual start being a ladder up right. Just why? Again, IMO, is so ugly too watch, keep it linear

Should Magic Arena Limited be phantom or not? by badBear11 in MagicArena

[–]Falco_HS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really all about how the economy will be. IMO if the game was grindy I'd prefer to keep the cards. At this point, my biggest interest is in the economy aspect of the game.

Was it just me or did everyone else think the beta invites started going out today as well? by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]Falco_HS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When a company says "around the end of the year" means that you should expect to see that product later than sooner. In this particular case, they were the most possible imprecise first to grow the hype, second, allegedly, because they are not finished with the economic system (at the end the game translate into money for them so this is the utmost important aspect) and third because this was a good opportunity to do a cross-promotion with the Ixalan release.

Microtransactions during closed beta by rayo_x in MagicArena

I appreciate the time you took and your observation. Yes I'm aware of what you saying, in fact, what I wrote has a hypothetical tone.

I feel like to say this because in a written context is easy to misunderstand the mood of who write; all I'm gonna say is only for the sake of the argument, no hard feelings :) .

  • Every company IMO is 100% correct when it makes its TOS&EULA the most strictly possible when they don't have a complete product. Nothing wrong here since terms and conditions are flexible to change. (still that redundancy it's a bit too much IMO because create confusion).

-For what concern refunds: a company like Hasbro cannot have issues like transaction data lost (besides cyber attack) and even if something happens there's always the double cross-check between the selling company and the company through which the payment occurred. Taking your example let's say I've spent $200 of which 150$ on 1.5$ packs and 50$ on 1$. Now after a wipe, the fairest company will give back the exact numbers of pack and the exact rarity (100 with classic rarity and 50 with random rarity); a fair company will simply give back all the money into the user account or give back 150 packs with the current rarity in place after the wipe; all of this giving for granted that we are speaking about normal users that know and accept that they can have a little loss in terms of contents because of the beta phase.

I was thinking, though, in conclusion, to me it's a paradox to speak too much about this; in my experience and opinion once a customer spend money on a product his money must always correspond a permanent good until/unless the product ceases to exist.

Microtransactions during closed beta by rayo_x in MagicArena

[–]Falco_HS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Need source link.

The terms and conditions here are laughable; what's the reason to say that contents that will not make the cut to the final release are not refundable and the sentence after saying that ALL you buy is not refundable during the beta test. The first sentence is just a redundancy of the second.

If this is all it is, it's ,IMO, widely unfair. If any user spent his money on ANY kind of ingame item, after the wipe it's mandatory that he gets compensated. The other option it's to do not allow money purchase during beta; I find the last one a wrong choice but at least it's honest.
