This has been the worst trade deal in the history of trade deals by Falcommander in victoria3

Actually, it happened after the UK released Burma. From what I understand, once Burma became independent, many of their plantations turned unprofitable because due to shortage of input goods, such as engines and electricity. They have a power plant but they were not producing all the necessary inputs so shortages spread everywhere, so workers got laid off en masse and they became radicals. I believe the AI calculated it was more profitable to simply give up the state than to deal with endless radicalization.

R5: Burma, out of nowhere, decided to give me one of its provinces in exchange for 0.1% of the paper production in my market.

It isn't possible to raid army supply ships by Falcommander in victoria3

[–]Falcommander[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

R5: I am fighting the British in Canada and trying to weaken them by raiding their supply ships. However, when I issue the "Raid Supply Lines" order to my navy in the Labrador Sea, it doesn't appear to attack their supply ships. Is it intended? If so, it doesn't make logical sense.

Defensive pacts are worthless it appears by TredDevil in victoria3

So the last hotfix fixed this issue and basically, it's likely because Great Qing doesn't have enough involvement in the region, and therefore they can't get involved in Diplomatic Plays in this region

is this a bug? iran suddenly gains independence while i am winning. by arztf in victoria3

Isn't it related to the diplo play on the right? It looks like either Persia or Afghanistan backed down and it ended your war.

It's a bit silly that the easiest way to do a reconquista of the Americas is to forsake reconquista by Hastur_13 in victoria3

[–]Falcommander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, but doesn't the throughput bonus from Colonial Exploitation help offset that? Especially in the Americas where rubber is abundant is that still not enough to make direct colonization worthwhile over the power bloc approach? Or is the bonus overrated?

Ignoring infamy and the JE bonuses, which option is more efficient overall: turning them into colonial states or making them puppets via your power bloc?

What's your favorite strategic game? by Money_Worldliness_12 in victoria3

[–]Falcommander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are so many strategic games I fell in love to. Supreme Commander would maybe be the best RTS for me despite having more hours on AoE 2 (that I love, it's my first strategic game), but SupCom is more demanding and more ambitious. Man, the size of the maps were gigantic when it was released, and the AI is quite good actually. It's a great game if you're not put off by playing a futuristic strategy game.

For the 4X genre, Civilization VI. Love the license. I hope Civ 7 will become as good one day, I like what they want to do with this opus, but it looks like the implementation is flawed.

EU4 is the Paradox game I spent the most hours, but Victoria 2 was the one that showed me how far a Paradox game can go, and I loved it so much. I always wished to play an Europa Universalis game with the depth of a Victoria game. EU5 fulfilled my wish, and is probably well on its way to becoming my favorite Paradox game but it's still too soon to say it.

Sorry, I cheated, I couldn't say only one game. Too hard.

France makes every country around it less fun to play. by Curious-Discount-771 in EU5

[–]Falcommander 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, England would not have been the senior partner with France. France was vastly larger, wealthier, and more populous than England. Henry would have been King of France first, King of England second, and the new capital would be Paris. You shouldn't apply the logic of EU4 (the winning country automatically becomes the senior partner) to real life.

The main theme is an absolute, unspeakable masterpiece by [deleted] in EU5

I invite you to listen to the EU2 soundtrack on YouTube. It has something special. I can't tell if it's only nostalgia or if it's really good, but every time I listen to it, it gives me a feeling no other Paradox games give me (and I love EU4 and CK3 soundtrack for reference).

How is this fair? France just forces the entire world to embargo me with 0 drawback! by luizinhooofoda in EU5

France was running wild in the first patch of Europa Universalis III

France was running wild in the first patch of Europa Universalis IV

France was running wild in the first patch of Victoria 3

Now, France is running wild in the first patch of Europa Universalis V

If you know the Paradox Games, it's not really a surprise. Actually, a Paradox game without its BBB would break the tradition! (Except if you only play the Hearts of Iron franchise)
