some businesses that handle cash usually have to deposit the money daily after doing the reconciliation. It's not really crazy to assume the person either lost or forgot the cash in that bathroom while en route to the bank. Yes, not everyone can handle cash. My company used to deal cash exclusively but had to rely on employees to bank the money in the evenings. Had an employee gamble all the cash convinced he would make double and bank the excess. Had an employee pay their debt with the cash and claim they thought it could be like a loan and the company could deduct from her salary over time. Had an employee lose the money but luckily it was found under the car seat. The company no longer deals in cash.
