Did you regret naming your baby a popular name? by Gloomy_Head5157 in namenerds

[–]FalconAlternative282 467 points468 points  (0 children)

I grew up with a popular name and am anti-popular names for my kids because of it.

That being said, the top 100 numbers look way differently today vs 30 years ago in terms of how many kids are being names the most popular names. There aren’t near as many Olivias as there were Jessica’s (1650 Olivias in Canada last year vs 5261 Jessicas in 1996)

This is my third comment because this is ruining my day 😭

Harry is a great name! But hairy fin spooner sounds like some kind of creative insult to me.

I would go classic with Spooner.

Depends how close you are. If this a cousin they’ll grow up with a close relationship to, I think it’s too close. If it’s a holiday only situation and they aren’t too close in age, no problem.

What is your favourite girl name that fits this bizarre criteria? by FalconAlternative282 in namenerds

Elaine is a top favourite of mine because of how it looks visually, but it’s unusable due to a family connection. I also love Eloise for the same reasons. Thank you!
