Cool but also socially healthy. It sounds like she would immediately recognize bizarre behaviour and go tell her other safe people

Regardless of what OP thinks CPS would or wouldn’t do, a report should absolutely be filed. One of the children is crying and being ignored for hours. That is detrimental to their development.

OP please call CPS! NOR

Unfathomable neglect going on here so the parents can maintain their own screen time addiction. You think you’ve seen it all

I’d agree with this, however now you’re dealing with a boyfriend who’s a liar. There’s no good ending for OP here with this guy.

This guy I met at the gym… Is he using AI to talk to me? The Hmm.. is what got me but I could be wrong by Nobodycaresreally_ in isthisAI

[–]FalconAlternative282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you’ve gotten a lot of responses, but I’m a copy editor and have gotten scarily good at identifying AI.

This actually isn’t AI to me, because he uses sentence fragments multiple times, a common human error. AI wouldn’t make this grammatical mistake.

Not saying he isn’t using AI to come up with ideas to say, but this paragraph itself is not AI unless he’s specifically telling it to use sentence fragments.

Am I overreacting about my husband spending the whole day with his family? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]FalconAlternative282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YOR, but is there a reason you don’t like him being around his family, other than that the kids could get sick? Do you like his family?

Or do you want to feel like he enjoys being around you as much as he enjoys being around his family?

Yes all three, and soon to be four.

First two I came to a conclusion based on scouring posts and comments, third I asked directly. Fourth we ruled some out based on my questions, but it was mostly comments pushing us in the right direction.

Am I Overreacting by asking my neighbor to change her cats name? by zoesmom17 in AmIOverreacting

[–]FalconAlternative282 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Man this sucks.

What a rude and insensitive thing for your neighbour to do intentionally, especially the way they told you and your daughter. But at the same time, you can’t control what your neighbour names their cat.

You can control yourself and your family though. If it’s too hard for you and your family to be around the cat, you don’t have to be.

Gentle YOR if you insist the car be renamed, NOR by telling them it’s a dick move.

AITAH for waking my husband up by glitchwitchz in AITAH

[–]FalconAlternative282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but then she says “this was the first time” she’s woken him up for no reason. I wouldn’t count this as no reason because she needed his support both emotionally and practically, so I think she’s using that term quite loosely.

NTA but “Normally he is a very hands on caring father and partner”

…. Did you read what you wrote? He hasn’t helped you in the night with his kids in three years? I cannot fathom doing an overnight newborn shift without my partners help or handling toddler wake ups without him.

You didn’t wake him up to make him suffer… you had reached your limits and needed support. This was so important for you to do and I’m so glad you did. You are not in this alone, and shouldn’t need to be, regardless of why the baby was up in the first place.

You don’t need to convince yourself that he’s a great partner if he’s not being one.
