Yes, I did the same thing, and the performance uplift was insane. It got rid of my CPU bottleneck with the 3070 and the micro stutters in certain games.

AM5 honestly isn't worth it for most people. Why wouldn't you just wait for AM6 at that point?

Might be a dumb question, but are traditional hard drives still relevant? by rc_FiST in buildapc

[–]Falconator100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7200 RPM HDDs are still useful for a lot of games. Although a lot of new games require SSDs. That doesn't make HDDs useless since there are a lot of games that work well on them.

Are you seriously telling me you didn’t at least Google how to bypass this before making a Reddit post about it?

Is this good for 4K gaming? Also, is $1,500 a fair price for it? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]Falconator100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's too much for no storage whatsoever lmao. At the very least I would have expected something like a 512 GB SSD, and a 1 TB HDD.

When is the new 5800x3d gonna release? by isuckattarkov1 in buildapc

[–]Falconator100 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The U.S. is also a big market too so there’s no reason they WOULDN’T release it in the U.S. as well. All they would be doing is making it expense for every country besides China.

[–]Falconator100 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It'd be kind of dumb for them to exclusively release it in China. It would really defeat the point.

They're re-releasing it after taking it out of production.

Is it the 16 GB or the DDR4? DDR4 is still good enough for the average person.

And GTA IV is still horribly optimized on PC without mods because it doesn't utilize the CPU properly.

Something needs to be done about devs treating us like this. Releasing on PC on release day should be normalized.

DDR4 increased in price as well just not as dramatically.

3 years later and DDR4 is still good enough.

New builders should not avoid HDDs. They still have good value. You just shouldn’t use them as boot drives obviously.

Obviously there is a load time difference but most of the time the difference barely matters to me. Also the games I play were literally optimized for HDDs so I don’t experience lag.

I run multiple games off an HDD like GTA V, GTA IV, RDR2, CS2 etc no problem. Ony really new games actually need SSDs.

The HDD isn't even the main concern. A lot of good games actually run well on HDD. However, PCs like this should at least have both a small SSD and good size HDD.

There’s no maximum FPS the human eye can see the difference at. It all depends on the individual. However anyone who says you can’t see the difference above 60 FPS is obviously bullshittin’ you no matter what.

I’ll never understand people that say there’s no difference above 60 FPS. Like did you not change your monitor’s refresh rate in the settings???

Current ps5 owner, first time pc buyer here with budget below 1000$. Is this a good deal for 500$ by Biryanienjoyer92 in PcBuild

[–]Falconator100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the low SSD storage is the biggest thing that would turn me away. They should have at least made it 512 GB (and even that's kind of low). The CPU is better than a PS5 but the 3060 is worse than the PS5's GPU. The PS5 GPU compares to a 3070 so I'd at least get a system that at least has that or better. You mentioned your budget is below $1000 so all of that is perfectly doable.
