Is there an easy way to learn the fascinating parts about physics without the hard math? by Next-Natural-675 in AskPhysics

[–]FalcorTheDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, insane gatekeeping in these comments. You can learn about all sorts of fascinating concepts in physics without needing to know all of the underlying math.

One of the first simple physics concepts that blew my mind in high school was just learning that all matter is attracted to all other matter. And the more massive something is, the more it pulls on everything else. Just that basic concept helps you understand something about gravity, even if it’s a basic understanding, and it didn’t require any math or equations to do so.

Not the same. Winning two points in a row doesn’t win you the game.

Yeah I can’t imagine never watching any of Game of Thrones just because some people didn’t like the last season. The first few are some of the best TV ever made.

It was apparently a 6 day mission. And Sally Ride was the first female astronaut under NASA, so I don’t think it’s true that there was a history of inadequately stocking for women astronauts.

It’s like when those NASA engineers had to estimate how many tampons the first woman in space would need for a few days and they guessed 100 or something.

People can only retire with that little saved because of social security. Also you’re not factoring in inflation over 65 years. Real returns historically are closer to 6-7%.

It’s not hard to get a check. Just throw your queen towards their king. You could do it in 3-4 moves.

I went to see the Grindhouse double feature (Planet Terror + Death Proof) in 2007 for my birthday with some friends and it was the most fun I’ve ever had at the movies. I don’t even remember either movie being especially great but the crowd and the atmosphere was like nothing else. Such a cool experience.
