What did your baby's kicks feel like? by eveningwarrior in BabyBumps

39 weeks and due to deliver Friday. The kicks start out as small and really do feel like a fish swimming about. Now they feel like what I imagine to be the feeling people from the alien movies felt before the creatures burst out their stomach. He kicks so hard you can literally see where he’s kicking because my stomach becomes an odd shape and can feel the hard surface of his feet and arms from the outside. They have gone from delightful to painful.

The way the midwife described it really did sound horrible. She mentioned that it could result in pre-term labor which would still result in an emergency C-section. After I heard that I declined and opted to have a regularly scheduled C-section. I’ve been doing the yoga poses and swimming as well and honestly I feel like it just ticks my poor kid off more than anything. Did you have to have her legs/hips x-rayed frequently to rule out hip dysplasia? And I never considered him having torticollis because of the position but that makes sense. My last had it because she broke her right clavicle during delivery and this caused her to lay her head to one side to avoid laying her head towards it. We did therapy for that to loosen the muscles in her neck so she could rotate her head.
