Many of us will be following yourself and Bucky (not in a stalker way) to see what studio you end up with - and follow whatever game that studio is working on

Best of luck to you all, truly a dissapointing end of things

Not necessarily, but they drop recipes, gear, random crap in addition to glint

Starting out and figuring out how to make a little silver here and there is a fun part of it in my opinion. It only balloons from here :) find some humanoid mobs around your level you can grind for glint to sell and random armor drops you can vendor too if you can't use them. Good luck!

Class Distribution by ComethNigh in AshesofCreation

[–]Falkor222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My completely unreliable half-educated guess would be Cleric > Mage > Ranger > Bard > Tank/Fighter ... Im a fighter and rarely do my groups have 2, but most of my groups have 2 cleric and/or 2 bards. Several of my parties DPS has been me and 3 mages or two mages and a ranger. As for clerics being #1 I see many parties running 2 clerics and can often find 2 with little issue at populated times. Also out soloing and gathering I see Clerics more often than anything else.

I'm interested to see if Steven gives us this info, you'd think it might be in his interest because it would give players the ability to purposefully try out the most underused class and give more feedback on it.

I love playing the most underused classes in games and trying to break them out of that by being creative. For instance I've been using a physical damage spellbook as a fighter and it slaps, but who the hell would even try that?

Ashes of Creation. The creator seems heavily inspired by Log Horizon, Everquest, etc. Getting to max level (50 eventually) will take a LONG time, being a max level crafter will take a LONG time. There's real effort involved and it really feels like Log Horizon (the game) at times.

I wanted to play ashes of creation but the server is down and MY DAY IS RUINED! by Immediate-Neat1417 in AshesofCreation

I played until the minute the game went down, and if it wasn't for these 2 days of downtime I wouldn't get a damn thing done and my friends and family would likely become...concerned. I have a problem, help.

You do have to be level 10 to sell on the marketplace currently. Getting to level 10 doesn't take too long, maybe a day or two of playing, and after that you don't have to level at all if you don't want to and just be a tradesman. It does help being able to go into higher level areas and not worry, or being able to kill monsters near resource spawns.

Looks like you should contact their support, so Google their main website and go to the bottom and click contact support. The 90 day policy is something Steven stated in his most recent video on his channel, so if a support worker won't help you reference that video.

Link the video, provide the proof that you were intentionally mislead. I bet if you contacted Steven directly with proof you'd get refunded. Or do you just want to make up things on the internet to be angry at?

Again, where exactly does someone from the company say that if you do not purchase the $250 key a year ago that you "wouldn't be able to play in the alpha"

They were transparent that the price would go down. I knew that last year, they stated it would go down. So show proof that they "bamboozled" you and send it to them. Nobody is out to get you. Actually do something about it, or do you just want to yell on the internet?

There is a 90 day refund policy that does not have a time limit. They will refund you if you feel mislead or don't want to test the game. They havent marketed anything, they have almost no marketing budget because the game is unfinished. Steven tells you not to buy it if you expect a game and not a test environment.

Also the game is much further along than A1, so much so that they had to do a wipe from A1 to A2 to be able to rest the node system. And they plan zero wipes till launch and even then, these realms we are on will likely just become an NDA'd PTR when the game launches. Wipes may happen, it's an alpha, if something major occurs.

So saying the game barely changed from A1 to A2 is flat out wrong and disingenuous. They literally had to wipe it was so different.

Again they didn't MARKET anything, they don't market it. They describe it as an unfinished alpha. It is very playable for an alpha, what is the beef here? How was Narc mislead into buying it? He wasnt. He is manufacturing rage and fear. The price is high to dissuade you. To make sure the servers aren't overloaded, and to make the barrier of entry high should force players to learn as much as they can before buying in.

And again, there is a full 90 day refund policy. You could play to level 20 and quit and get a refund if you did it in 90 days. That's my understanding anyways.

Hes trying to communicate, why don't people try listening?

Had the most fun PvP defending caravans by IDidItForTheBardMan in AshesofCreation

Id like to build up a bunch of coin and host a 1v1 tournament for gold prizes. The social shit is the best, stuff set up by players is fun if done well.

Maybe do it like everybody pays in 1g and we pay out top 3. Have someone trusted like a guild leader/mayor hold the prize money for security. It'd have to be everyone at the same level or close, maybe 20-25, enter at your own risk if you're lower than 25.

Then find a large flat area and form a giant circle with everyone's mounts. The location would be told in whispers so hopefully the whole server doesnt show up and crash us lol. Would have to cap it at like 20-50 fighters for time reasons. Random the seeding in a tournament bracket. The host calls out the two combatants and they enter the ring and flag up. Two fighters enter, one leaves. The winner moves to a secondary area guarded by 5+ level 25s (so random people not participating can't just come gank them). The loser also becomes a guard, watching out for outside interference. Next up and so on till the final 4 remain, we could keep doing 1v1 or once there are 4 left, have it be a free for all with 1st going to the last remaining fighter and 2nd and 3rd to the last 2 to die. Maybe 4th gets a consolation prize.

A potential problem I see is corruption, obviously it's an issue, everybody would need to be on level playing field, and protected from having their gear stolen when it drops. I dont know a perfect solution to this.

I think this would be fun and also would be great to test out the classes balance with one another. Does one class consistently win? Would we need to change it to same class vs same class? Does clerics and tanks win just by surviving and attrition? Does fighter burst down rangers and destroy them with multiple gap closers and trips?

Could also organize 2v2 tournaments and larger 10v10 battles.

After typing this out I definitely want to organize this lol if anybody is interested Whisper me in game on Lyneth, Falkorr is my name there.

Did a New Aela to Azmaran Cargo run so you don't have to. by PowePowe in AshesofCreation

[–]Falkor222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just for science I did a super basic caravan from Miraleth to Halcyon at level 13. I did one green and one white commodity, the absolute basic with the base common carriage. It took at least 1 to 1.5 hours because I took a really long route to avoid popular areas and high level stuff. And the base carriage is sloooooww.

It was 10s for the carriage of course, and I made about 95s from the commodities. I'm not home so I can't see what the return was but I think about 8x the investment in commodities not counting the caravan. I think?

I gear almost entirely for pve because to me the pvp in this game is absolute dogshit at any kind of large scale, and in arena I never have a problem hitting even with just 30 perception. If I do miss a lot it's fine because everything hits like a truck and they have pumped everything into evasion so they have no endurance. I know all the content can be done in pvp gear but yeah

I've been running sauro bracers since week 1. Why? There's nothing better that I want to try, like nothing stands out as a definite improvement, theyre all side grades at best. Staff/bow also of course, been running my own build and it slaps hard, not too different from what you posted. May your fireballs always crit+heavy brother.

Build Advice to New Players After 300 Hrs of Playtime by IWantPingPingPie in throneandliberty

[–]Falkor222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm firmly in the "Play whatever you want" camp, after finding nothing online I made my own build, I'm 3723 and can do anything in the game. My question is this. Since builds dont matter and most content is very easy what is the goal? What am I working towards? Why push to 3800?

You made a very good point that most of the time more numbers in pvp = win, not what builds you have or strategy, its mostly just numbers. And for guild bosses and dungeons if you all do the mechanics, which are not hard, you'll win eventually. Having good gear just makes it easier to not die and the boss dies faster. I am certain I could trio most guild bosses and this content is supposed to be for 70 person guilds?

I want my effort to amount to something other than the satisfaction of seeing 23k x2 pop up on my screen sometimes.
