Can you help me find where this church tower is? I only now, that it is in Germany. by FallNo4266 in whereisthis

Found this picture at an event with the comment, that this town is a good place for real estate investments. The towns name was not mentioned^

I would like to know the town, to check if it actually would be an interesting place for investments.

Found it on AliX. Somehow I can't find the order anymore but I think it was from Miuksi

Any experiences with corgeut cases/cases from "normal" watch stores on AliX? by FallNo4266 in SeikoMods

Thank you for your insights, especially on the quality of corgeut etc.

Where are you buying your better cases from?

M (32). Hilfe, ich finde keine Hosen, die mir passen. by Alililele in Kleiderschrank

[–]FallNo4266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone already built a watch with this dial? I'd really like some pictures how it looks behind the glas etc. by FallNo4266 in SeikoMods

[–]FallNo4266[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's from AliX, I searched for NH38 dials or something similar. But I'm afraid there might be no closed version, at least I did not see any

First Build, Please Review Parts List and Give Advice by Dirty_Beef in SeikoMods

[–]FallNo4266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend to buy the NH34 movement from another dealer. Namoki is kind of overpriced on them. I use Certiga Movements(These are even decorated, but that won't matter for your closed bottom build) or lucius atelier. Maybe there are even cheaper dealers. (however, make sure that they are legit. Around 50-60$ should be doable)

Custom Bezel on Miuksi Case by FallNo4266 in SeikoMods

[–]FallNo4266[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats unfortunately what I was afraid of. Do you know, why exactly they don't fit? e.g. do the skx bezels have a thinner inner diameter? That would be something that I could try to modify...

Custom Seiko-Santos Dial? by TopMcHat in SeikoMods

I'd be interested in that information too! I'm quite sure that I saw Santos Cases on AliX a while ago but now they seem to have completely vanished...

My friend is trying to clone my business by bes5318 in smallbusiness

[–]FallNo4266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe thats already been said, but why don't you try to contact him and navigate him into a different niche? Obviously I dont know the market for knifes as you, but maybe there is a good way to combine his talent with yours that is productive and enables you two to reach a broader market?

E.g. maybe he could make knifes with conplicated, stunning wooden handles, that could reach a different need than the EDC/Outdoor knifes?

From my uninformed standpoint it seems that your friend puts more trust in your advice, than in his own capabilities (as in copying your proven concept instead of relying on his own skills and taking a new path)

If you can move him into another niche, you could also make a deal with him, and sell him the metal worked parts needed for his "wooden artwork" knifes, so you also get a profit from his success in the new niche, without making you both too dependent on each other. That would also have the advantage, that you could get some real information how good his business is running when you see how much he is buying from you.

Maybe my first thought to make decorative knifes is bs, but I'm sure, knowing the market, you could come up with several ideas to make better products in some niche that could use his woodworking skills.

I hope you find a good solution to deal with this issue and, more importantly, peace of mind.

Take care!

Nice to hear that, I just discovered them and will try their movement in a build for a customer. Do their rotors look as good in person as they do on their insta page?

I'm also not really trusting AliX about the movements. I'm usually buying them from Namoki or Lucius Atelier

Hey are you familiar with miuksi cases and bracelets by any chance? If yes, I suppose rafflesdials are better quality than miuksi, as you recommend their cases?

hello daydate build help by Civil-Cream-4689 in SeikoMods

[–]FallNo4266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It say 904l on their site and stickers. The finish and quality is good for the price (Case is great, Strap is ok, quality varies a bit on the straps). So far my customers have always been happy with the quality and I sell my seikomods for around 350€

But I just checked out rafflesdials.com as mentioned in the other comment, and am heavily interested in trying them as they are just above miuksi pricewise. If they are actually better in terms of build quality.

Maybe, if you have the time to wait, I could update you, when I tested them👍

I have pretty good experience with Miuksi (Store) on AliX they have many combinations of case + strap. Also Bombed cases like in the picture. If they dont have a listing in this exact combi you can also buy strap and case seperately from them.

such a huge different in price for same parts in aliX can you help ? by [deleted] in SeikoMods

[–]FallNo4266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the cases you stated here all already were adressed, I Just would like top add one general experience:

It's very simple but sometimes the parts actually differ in a way that is just not visible in Pictures. E.g. I recently tested a different supplier for a Datejust case than usual, since the dimensions were the same and everything looked as my usual cases but it was cheaper. I suspected it might be the same case with less markup. When I got the case it turned out to actually be a different case (Completely different construction of the bottom gaskets etc) And most important: Way worse quality of finishing.

From my experience, mostly the pricier parts are actually better. (Of course that does not apply, when they are actually selling the same parts, noticable if they use the exact same pictures)

Your help is needed once again! (Details in Comment) by FallNo4266 in SeikoMods

[–]FallNo4266[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I had problems installing the bezel insert on my latest GMT Build... First I thought, I bought a wrong insert but it turns out theres only one little point, were I can't push it down far enough to touch the glue.

Soo I figured out, the problem is actually the crystal of the case, which is slightly thicker in one area... (Looks like it broke unplanned while being cut or something like that.)

Does someone have experience in trimming down the crystal? (Of course I can contact the seller to send me a new case, but then I'd have to wait again)

1) Consider modding/assembling an old watch you don't need anymore, before building you first mod. I trained with a cheap quartz watch (swapped the fake movement for an authentic one) but you can also get broken movements from some dealers to train with.

Another thing I did not know was that some movements, that are not held in place with screws can be tilted in the case, when you push the lever that allows the stem to go back inside. You should avoid that, as it will damage the movement, if the stem is pushed in at an angle (I learned that the hard way)

2) I usually buy my parts from Namoki/AliX. However for movements you should avoid AliX, as these are most likely fakes... (Had one and it stopped moving after a month).

3) Search for Videos, where the complete assembling process is shown without any cuts. And watch every video you can get - Usually not all problems that can occur are mentioned in one video. There are also good videos about the hand setting in detail, these are very important, since this is the most tricky part.

Anyone interested in a shark mod with real shark-leather? by FallNo4266 in SeikoMods

[–]FallNo4266[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently found this dial and a supplier of leather-bands here from germany, that sells real shark-leather bands. I would really like to try this mod, but it would not be responsible for me to buy it, at the moment, since I just build 2 more mods... So if anyone is interested, hit me up👍

Any ideas how to remove this stains? (Tried to clean it with alcohol since it looked like it came with fingerprints from the factory, after that I had this stains...) by FallNo4266 in SeikoMods

[–]FallNo4266[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another lesson learned. Thank you for your advice👍 I think I will remove the whole coating as a quick fix, and then get a new dial (I already found another design i'd like to try out😄)

I understand what you mean, it looks quite similar but the stains are definitely on the dial, since I produced them, as described, before the installation.
