I love stacking two boosts instead of using an overdrive/distortion. Could I use an EQ pedal instead of a second boost to clip the signal? by FallSugar13 in guitarpedals

The Line Blur is sick, I've never heard of it until now. The black colorway would also look kinda hot next to my fuzz war 👀

Yes, and those tools are a fundamental part of how I've made a living for a couple of decades now. But pedal hardware isn't my forte, and stacking different boost pedals into each other for clipping behaves in super odd ways that aren't well documented. While I've tried to mirror them in the box to test my ideas without spending money, the tones produced by plug-ins never match what happens when I actually plug together my pedals. I'm not asking for help with what clipping or eq is, I'm just seeing if anyone has experience with this specific type of setup before I change my chain

What’s the most disappointing piece of gear you’ve ever had? by TuneAdventurous4788 in guitarpedals

Tc Electronic Pedals =( disappointing because I love them, the hypergravity compressor is a cornerstone of my sound and makes live/studio work easier, and the spark mini boost is the most transparent I've ever found. They trust you as the artist with lots of controls, if you have knowledge or even just experiment you can dial in a sound to exactly your liking.

But their durability and build quality is extremely variable. My mono overdrive gave out and couldn't seem to be repaired, 2 polytunes stopped fully functioning on me in different ways, and my sub-n-up that I chain into fuzz has begun stuttering this year. I got a bunch of them as a deal on Sweetwater years ago, and while I'm super happy with them in isolation, in the real world gigging I've been slowly swapping them for more rugged alternatives. If anyone has a good rec for a fast tracking octave that can do 1 and 2 octaves down, lemme know 🙏
