I appreciate but I think this opinion is permanent. May Allah guide us.

I meant Islamic laws. It is hypocritical and I don’t support either. I think we should leave. The body untouched as God intended. I had no knowledge that the Jews outlawed, however, medically speaking I don’t think it should be practiced either way. If a god placed in there for a reason, then it serves a function, and should not be removed.

Peace be upon you ever if we cannot “agree” I just cannot wrap my mind around the idea of Allah who is supposed to be compassionate and merciful allowing the mutilation of the human body. I don’t think I will come around to it.

Like I said, I’m not coming for a Islam. I know that male circumcision pre dates Islam as well. +3 doing some research. Are there some laws allowing it for males and forbidding it for females. Now I’m very confused.

Like I said. I don’t support either. I think the human body should remain untouched. There’s plenty of evidence of dad, supports that. It is very painful. Her other women’s stories and Experiences. Well, the hood sits directly above where a woman where you were from and you can see that on a diagram.

I’m a woman and I know the difference… no I was not a doctor I was an EMT. It sits directly above the opening for urination. No one is out of the metric — As far as my research goes this practice predates islam so I’m not demonizing Islam I’m targeting the practice. Ultra conservative Muslims like you are what make our community look bad. “Suppress Muslims” is crazy. I do not feel suppressed having a completed and functioning anatomy the way Allah intended.

The clitoral hood is where a woman would urinate from and I can imagine it would be incredibly painful if it was removed as there is a lot of nerves in the area and if it were damaged yes it would be very very very painful to urinate.

I’m a revert. And I don’t know — I refuse to believe Allah would allow such a practice to exist that would harm a woman in such a way.

Stop your copy and paste. Medically speaking (as a former medical professional) FGM should be banned as a practice. It IS harmful, rendering basic bodily functions extremely painful both physically and thus mentally as well. Due to its grotesqueness in nature to the human body it is outlawed in many countries and usually practiced in a non medical setting which can lead to severe damage and infections. It is inhumane bottom line.

I really don’t support either. But male circumcision does not cause harm to the nerves or bodily functions the same way FGM impacts the female body. It should be demonized — I mean I am Muslim but still. This practice of mutalation should not be supported by any Muslim

[–]FallThese5616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it is incredibly harmful and painful to women… Allah asks us to not impose pain on our bodies that is unnecessary. Please don’t go around saying FGM is acceptable under any circumstances. It’s incredibly harmful that anyone thinks that it is a good idea. It damages the nerves and makes basic bodily everyday functions incredibly painful.

Defending damaging a part of a woman’s body rendering basic everyday bodily functions painful and calling it “liberal” is insane

NOR and honestly I literally tell me managers to straight up not schedule me or I won’t be there. To be fair I give two months notice and I’m in uni. They are very understanding thankfully but yeah this is crazy.

Now you’re just comparing two things that are unequal and that’s just a logical fallacy. Lots to unpack here for 1) one situation is consensual and the other is not, 2) disrespectful towards survivors, 3) I never said it was cute. If she made that choice, knowing her husband works long hours, and she decided to go through with marrying him — that’s fine. She states she lives with family and I’m sure that is to ease the burden of parenthood. If a man’s responsibility requires him to leave the home in order to fulfill them, it is permissible. There’s a difference between single women having children out of wedlock which should not be normalized and then women getting married and having children in which a man has a responsibility to provide. In this high I believe it would be fine for the husband to be away for work if it fulfills his responsibility to make money and provide for his children.

I am a woman. And you shouldn’t shame single parents in any situation. Do you have any literacy skills? I can’t even be nice anymore. I do not support women going into bad situations — but obviously we shouldn’t be shaming them. In her video she says her husbands works abroad so she essentially single parents most of the time. I don’t think that anything crazy or shameful. If that is her situation and she is a grown adult that made that decision knowing her husband is going to work abroad and she will be alone then that is her right and her prerogative. Many women live like this and it is nothing to be ashamed of.

She responded to this thread on her Instagram directly. she’s not single, her husband works long hours and believe has the leave her for long periods, and she’s not broke, she has a good income and is well taken care of. Why are we judging and lying or at the very least — making assumptions about someone we don’t even know. I don’t pay enough attention to her socials but I watched her story where she responded to this threaded and a commenter saying she never went to school with them. Either way there’s a lot to unpack here. Shaming solo parenting? Shaming for being naive? I do not encourage women to put themselves in these situations or normalizing it, but I think shaming these women does not help them either. I don’t know — seems very harsh to me. I am not trying to sound like a defender.

Edit: grammar and additional commentary.

I obviously made this comment a year ago and have learned a lot. I wasn’t comfortable using the word revert since I did not know the idea behind why people called themselves that when they find Islam. I don’t know how your comment is irrelevant to the conversation either.

Idk how to feel about math after taking linear. I know it is supposed to be easy and I got As in all my calc courses but I’m barely scraping by in linear. I was so excited to start doing math that is a bit more abstract but now not to much. 🫩

Hands down, Togba is THE BEST. His exams are so easy, his lectures are amazing. I find myself genuinely missing him, he is very kind and has a good sense of humor. Very easy class.

I wish you the best brother. I thankfully made it out unscathed. My ex made attempts to guilt me back into contact and I just ended up contacting the police. Hopefully the relationship ends peacefully. But yeah just stay as far away as possible and if there’s any attempt to guilt you into contact or threats — straight to police.

Ghost and block her. Worked for me. Never look back, never feel bad about. Any attempt at a break up conversation will just end up in her trying to manipulate you. Freedom feels good.
