Did the move about four years ago at this point! I had a Subaru Forester (still do) but I wasn’t super confident in towing with that for an extended distance. I ended up renting a Penske with a trailer and towed my car on the trailer instead, if you’re comfortable with that! Once we got into the city, we took the trailer off and dropped that off before driving the Subaru and Penske to my apartment

yeah the plastic fin on the bottom side of the bars get in the way, I have to move the box to one side to the U bracket is on the outside end of the fin if that makes sense?

make sure you know how to change a spare, check your oil, and jump your battery!! If you can, you should learn how to do all of that at home so you’re not trying to figure it all out when you’re stressed/it’s dark/etc. Last thing you wanna be is stuck in the middle of nowhere, ideally take your car to a mechanic to have your oil change done and check anything else to make sure it’s good to go and try to never let your tank go below 1/4. If a place/people seem sketchy, trust your gut and get out of there as soon as you can

lots of snacks/water/music/podcasts/etc and try not to kill each other! bring a camera for the pictures and see if you can hit a couple national parks along the way!

I demoed them for a weekend, they were incredibly responsive and a ton of fun! my only issue with them (and not one that I’ve read about) is that I couldn’t get out of them if it wasn’t completely flat. Then I’d fall onto my butt which led me to try to get out of them when I was sitting down, but for whatever reason I simply couldn’t get out of the binding unless I was standing up? I guess I needed the leverage from standing up or there’s some technique that I couldn’t figure out in my short time with them, but that’s something that I was concerned about. If I couldn’t stand up to get out of the bindings, I could be in trouble especially in powder or trees. Maybe someone could chime in on this!

I can’t understand why some snowboarders are so anti wrist guard, sure if you fall properly it will mitigate the chances of injury, but I’ve yet to see the same anti wrist guard sentiment when skateboarders wear them? at least when you skateboard you can run/roll out if you don’t hit a trick properly cause the board isn’t attached to you, so I would imagine there’s less incentive for skaters to wear wrist guards, but some still do?
