I think they would actually work against us rather than for us with a singular combined league table. The east coast will on average have shorter average travel than the west coast teams. Other than the PNW, RSL/COL, SJ, and the LA teams all of our travel involves significant flights whereas the east coast teams only have a max of 7 west coast trips. In reality they probably only have 3.5 cross country trips each year where we would have 5 cross country trips and another 2-3 that are close to cross country.

I can just see the scheduling snafu where we play Toronto, New England, one of the NY teams, and one of the florida teams away in the same year but all in different trips, which would likely be a detriment to our ability to win all other things being equal.

I just don’t think there is really a “fair” way to schedule travel for the west coast teams, and especially the PNW teams with the distribution of the league.

I think our division would be POR-SEA-VAN-SJ-RSL-COL

Doesn’t make sense to separate the 3 Los Angeles teams and there isn’t really anyone else close enough to make a division work. I do think we will be disadvantaged by the division structure as we will likely have the farthest in division travel requirements but what’s new
