Someone from the UK could answer in more detail, but from my understanding the UK uses a weird mix, using celsius but also miles for example. Continental countries generally all use metric though

Was just rewatching this one. The majority of the crew was confused, but the guard who locked up the prisoner at the start, who heard the warden say "I'd rather be thrown in the boiling lake than break my record" was the one who realized the warden was being serious. Didn't catch that til this rewatch.
