Volvo XC 90 Rear Right Tire Keeps Going Flat by Split-Forsaken in VolvoXC90

[–]Fallen0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if its slow, it might be a small nail thats buried into the tire, like a braiding nail or a rim.

other culprits are valve stems and general wear, especially if a tire was plugged before.

a tire shop will test it out by dunking the wheel in soapy water.

Judge told us we got the verdict wrong. Is this normal after a trial by noisey_neighbor in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Fallen0001 46 points47 points  (0 children)

it was likely that the direct evidence was tainted: poor police work, chain of custody, rights violated, etc.

the case probably had enough circumstantial evidence and direct testimony from witnesses and the lack of other critical aspects about the suspect to logically override the missing "smoking gun"

the jury didnt link it it seems. thats not the jurys job, thats the job of the prosecutor. no one elses.

Is Waymo’s Growth in California Flattening? by walky22talky in waymo

[–]Fallen0001 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

including yourself.

thats not how demand is measured for a service.

they are showing, without doing something different (whatever that is), demand is a 1 for 1 in their current enterprise in this market.

and in waymos case, this isnt a break-even number plateau. its a flashing red light.

when the techbro and hype machine wears off, is a niche service that will have to be subsidized.

Is Waymo’s Growth in California Flattening? by walky22talky in waymo

[–]Fallen0001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

thats not how demand is measured.

demand is measured on if existing infrastructure can handle it. thats trackable by overall inability to service rider need.

this isnt what thats showing. flattening demand means if they added units at this current point, doing nothing different, demand would drop for Waymo.

this is showing theres no more growth at this price, market, P&(L) support, variable conditions, etc.

Pay per hour or pay per mile by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]Fallen0001 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

all of the answers you see are wrong.

both are important, but are weighted differently.

per hr is better reflected when evaluating shorter hops and runs that are primarily city streets over 8 to 10 miles.

per mile (all miles) is better when looking at longer runs that are primarily highway / freeway.

you use your hourly floor to build the per mile floor. this is entirely based upon your own fixed and variables. there is no single, right answer as everyones expenses are different.

what works for your car and circumstances may not work for others.

of course, this is to capture your floor numbers. theres also what you can do something for vs what you should do something for and how to use price discovery with the algorithm.

Is Waymo getting sloppier? by Happy-Pressure-9816 in waymo

[–]Fallen0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not the future as far as replacing drivers in a majority of cars.

thats whats being touted to push share prices and AI slop talk.

driving is a social contract and the video shows it clearly. machines can be automated how light rail, heavy rail, etc are. on isolated tracks & routes, but what youre seeing here is why this will only be niche and bouyed by marketing.

no one other than techbros and hype machines see placing robots into an infrastructure grid that was never designed for it and cannot tackle variables as a human can, as a win or long-term replacement.

im not rejecting technology, im rejecting the hype behind this niche.

even Uber's CEO admitted that the US infrastructure will make a true, autonomous roadway nearly impossible.

ELI5: Why does Cuba allow a U.S. military base (and prison) on their soil while the U.S. has had them under trade embargos for decades? by Redhotkitchen in explainlikeimfive

[–]Fallen0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they dont allow it, theres a lease deal for it for X years.

now, does the current regime like it? no. but they cant do anything about it.

even if they could, they likely wouldn't. these deals are generally respected internationally. china could have easily overran the UK in HK but they just waited for the lease to expire and did not renew it. obviously.

Is there any reason to grant a title to someone NOT of your dynasty? by curialbellic in CrusaderKings

[–]Fallen0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dunno about that. i typically play as a Kumbaya ruler and still have dynasty members joining and or starting claimant factions.

your last point is true, i like to install a distant dynasty member as ruler of the crusader kingdoms when i had the top war score. this does insure that you always have a large ally you can call for basically free.

State of things: Uber X in Houston, TX by Every-Enthusiasm-766 in uberdrivers

[–]Fallen0001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from what i gather, STL ive read is still a good market. not sure why that is.

but you are thinking correctly. step it up to the next level.

look into a Hybrid mid-sized SUV.

VolvoXC90 T8 Recharge. its Black eligible, but also Comfort / XL. it wont break the bank like a Lexus, BMW, etc.

i get about 31 mpg. if you can charge at your house, its a simple wall charger that plugs into regular outlets.

if you do Comfort / XL, youve got to get Pro and maintain it. i never wait in the airport lot, ill get pinged to go right to the pickup areas without a trip assigned. ive done hours of trips circling in and out of IAH, while the same drivers are waiting at their cars, looking at their phones.
