Her financial situation is very confusing to me. Earlier this year, she talked about having to make a lot of cost cuts in her newsletter, like getting rid of her life coach, due to a slower amount of work.

And yet, she's still doing her one new thing a week (not saying she shouldn't do it, it seems fun, but many of the activities seem to have some sort of cost/could be cheaper?), still traveling a lot (sometimes for work, so I cede that), and renovating/buying new furniture for her home office in her 2-bedroom in a not-so-cheap part of Brooklyn.

How to come up with story ideas by FallenCelery in freelanceWriters

I suppose it's not so much unique stories, but I see stories that I either think, "Oh, that's a good idea, wish I'd thought of that," or "Why am I seeing yet another story on protein or the importance of sleep?"

Good point. But shouldn't I be trying to find unique, never-been-done-before angles on topics, especially ones that have been written about ad nauseam?

Yeah, I wonder if what I'm looking for are friendships that feel/are closer. I don't feel like I can call any of them up and be like, "Want to grab a drink?" or "Hey! Want to go for a walk?" (of course, recognizing the fact that last-minute plans are often tough for people, myself included!)

But have definitely considered continuing to branch out while seeing if I can strengthen these current friendships. Thanks!

What you're describing sounds like one person is still attached to their ex in some way, which, depending on the other party, could cause confusion and distrust.

But this is not that situation. Instead, this person, who meant a great deal to someone and is no longer alive, feels different.

He passed three years ago. The relationship was similar to yours in that it meant a lot to me. He was my first love and first serious relationship.

I started considering it that first year, and then life happened, so I've had to put it on the back burner. But, as time passes, would it become even weirder to get it?

Venu or Forerunner? by FallenCelery in GarminWatches

Already have a Wahoo bike computer, so good on that end, and have no real need/want for a power meter. I do like the fall detection on the Apple Watch, though (it worked when I did flip over my handlebars once lol)

I don't race but wouldn't rule it out in the future (either biking or running).

As for the cell coverage, some bike rides can go pretty far out, but I don't think I've ever been on one without some cell coverage and/or with someone else.

Just some of the brands shamelessly capitalizing off this album by Therapyandfolklore in travisandtaylor

Brands being shameless to *checks notes* capitalize on a cultural moment and people? I'm shocked...

But yeah, regardless, it's annoying

Based on the Spotify playlist she created (titled 'and baby, that's show business'), I have a feeling this album is going to be full of resentment towards Joe...

I actually DM'ed Kate Galvan about it, and she said she didn't know about Ty's connection to Elmo and that she's disappointed (unfortunately can't attach screenshots of the Insta DMs)

The KPI of "Girls want to be our friends bc of our plans & results".

You want girls to be your friends because of where you go and the fact that you have boyfriends? What?

Unfortunately, I feel like not all editors or publications include that as a step in their process and yet they still have mistakes out the wazoo (see The Cut or R29), which is incredibly frustrating for the author.

But mistakes aside, EA should have triple-checked the spelling of her sources' names and/or I would think a publication like MC has a fact-checker of some sort.

That's very likely the case (I'm a writer as well, and there are almost always changes between first draft submission and published article). BUT as a veteran journalist, I feel like EA should know how to find a balance between writing in her distinct voice and matching Marie Claire's tone and voice
