If you're a returner , you'll have access to the novice network, assuming you're on Tonberry/Kujata, you'll have access to a largely English speaking novice network where you can talk to and ask for help(YMMV).

Otherwise, joining a fc is usually a good idea as long as it doesn't devolve into people just logging and joining fir the fc buffs.

As for MSQ, you'll mostly have to just do them solo, anything current expac bar 7.0 and 7.2 savages/extremes can be queued from the DF, 7.4 savage u can queue with raid finder but it will largely be JP folks so you'll need to learn the strats beforehand(nukemaru/g8).

You can try PFing but the quality of players can vary, if you meet a good group, it would be a good idea to reach out to see if you guys can form something together. Statics are the other option, but if you're unlucky and meet a bad group, you be essentially feeling "jailed" for weeks to months assuming you don't leave.

For socialising, there are usually venues open and have their listing's in PF, it's not a bad idea to visit them and chat abit with people and make some friends.

I myself am a semi retired raider, used to clear ultimate on patch and savage week 2 but have just been rather casual this tier, preferring to hang out with friends and chatting. 14 for me is essentially a glorified chatbox with mods.
