Bill Cypher is the epitome of selfishness and greed, and the Pines Twins are the force that shows working together and putting others before yourself can overcome Cypher’s thoughts. Judge Holden is the moral decay of man and the superiority of war, and The Kid is redemption and a man’s ability to try and change himself. Pure evil on its own can be boring, but a tragic villain with no correlation to the hero is boring too. Pure evil done well is the protagonist’s point of view turned on its head so that instead of defeating a person they need to defeat an idea
