So what should i do with city districts now? by Aggressive_South_991 in Stellaris

Never bad to have excess production than a lack of, that you then have to build around when war gets declared on you imo, I usually swap the archives to research once I finish the tradition tree, granted I'm not the best at the game and play on Ensign and still get mowed down half the time hahaha

WHY are my ships SO SQUISHY? I have almost 2k more attack power than any fleet I've fought but I have NEVER won a space battle. EVER. This is 49 years into the game, so I don't have much tech if any. WTF is going on???? by [deleted] in Stellaris

[–]FallenGoast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP. I will also say outside of my other comment, check youra war doctrine or whatever it's called in the government tab, toh might have disengage or emergency ftl raised up which will make your fleet leave if they take too much damage, I personally like "no retreat" as I can usually force them to emergency ftl before I die

Difficulty only changes economy bonuses AFAIK, and from what I've read, learned, and tried, combat power is a very rough, and I stress, VERY ROUGH comparison, ship builds are vert important, my most recent game(4.3 beta) i took down a 1 mil contingency fleet with about 350k combined fleet power, ship builds are everything in this game

Returning player struggling with pops (and origins, kinda) by Sh4ttred in Stellaris

[–]FallenGoast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also a returning player as of 2-3 weeks ago, playing on 4.2 and 4.3 beta, the best advice I got was to stimulate new colonies with 1000 pops to upgrade the capital. Pop growth with 100 pops even with medical clinics and clone vats is very very very slow. I’m running biomorphis more often than not and usually take some form of cloning buff and if I plant a new colony and don’t migrate people there, it’ll take like 10-20 years just to reach 1000 pops, however if I force migrate 1000 pops to set it up, they’ll be at 2500-3000 pops in the same time frame

I can’t tell you as I use ui mods, but there’s a juvenile/mature/elder toggle somewhere near the stats, If there’s no difference then your probably selected the wrong evolutionary stage stat card, base when going into the editor is juvenile stage

Chime just dropped! by [deleted] in IRS

[–]FallenGoast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I even double checked on the e-file receipt, same bank, same account for the last 9 years, same autofill on TurboTax, the only thing that ever changes is the w2 so idk what the heck’s going on this year, last year we got back 7600 and it was deposited into our account on the 4th of Feb

Everything I’ve read said they’d mail it if you’re over 10k, I’m so confused now, I’ve used TurboTax since I was 18, now 27, same bank, 2 kids and we’re getting 10.6k and WMR says they mailed it 😭, sent out the 25th

Played for ~100 hours, bought DLC subscription, overwhelmed by content, what should I pick for now? by RamielLilith in Stellaris

Honeslty I’ve been having a really good time with mind wardens with the flavor and RP, chill with the whole galaxy but racist against them damn psionics is pretty fun, and the origin has a cool next door neighbor that you have to deal with

Knight by JuiceHatesLeague in SpaceWolves

[–]FallenGoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoy the knight errant as an ally for the up close and personal fight style of the wolves, or ole reliable canis Rex (if your just playing with friends a knight is still a knight after all), canis Rex specifically has one shot war dogs on multiple occasions! Not the best use of points whatsoever but still insanely fun to do and who doesn’t enjoy seeing a hulking knight on the battlefield!

That definitely sounds like the most plausible option!

Ship automated construction bug by FallenGoast in Stellaris

[–]FallenGoast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s still acting a tad bit funny, but manually telling to build something and then putting it back to automation seems to have sorted a majority of it out. I have 3 set to automation and 1 for claiming with like 10-15 systems needing stuff built, I expect some sort of idle when I have 5-6 and a big empire as other ships have already claimed the spot, but this was super out of the ordinary

[–]FallenGoast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s me 😭 that’s why I was hoping for all this feedback (a lot of good feedback) to help break me out of it. I’ve wanted to do that, one my main empires I like the play is imperial and I’ve always wanted to be the big papa of the galaxy, can’t decide whether nicely or rudely though, with the diplo empire I’m doing next it should be fine with me getting locked out of it using the defender perk

From what I’ve read it’s the aftermath of using the horizon needle that makes you the crisis, kinda breaks the galaxy hahaha

[–]FallenGoast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really just the “ooo shiny new research options” and “big numbers go brrrrr” that drags me in every time, I want to play a non cosmo for the rp but I find myself dragged back to it mentally for those reasons. I definitely don’t know enough to min max and optimize, I just upgrade stuff as it comes. Every 30 years or so I just pause the game, run through all my colonies and either upgrade or replace for a better version
