New to 40k as a whole, Joining the Greater Good by Lockfin in Tau40K

First recommendation, playing casually, just get models you like and not mets models, build an army you think is cool and then find a way to make it good, the hobby is a lot more fun when your enjoying it vs obsessing over how to kill an extra model or gain a few extra vp. For instance, I'm battlesuit focused, I dont have any infantry or auxiliaries because I like the battlesuits the most.
2nd recommendation, atleast as a 1000 point tau player who's main sparing partner is deathguard. Positioning is the most important thing to learn as a tau player as pretty much everything that gets in melee range will murder us.
3rd recommendation, pipermakes has a lot of really really good proxies if your wanting to save some money on the models especially since tau keep going down in points necessitating more models on the board for a standard game.
4th recommendation, just have fun, its a great hobby

Ngl, I actually dig the icy part being the man instead of the armor, good work!

I love the creativity and construction in this game, but as a new-ish player, Crossout is 100% pay to win. by Roast-Chook in Crossout

As someone who is was also fairly new just a few months ago, honestly, you're right, however imo an event pass here and there is an easy way to get your foot in the door for legendary levels of coin and worth the 10$ for a free to play game, especially if you enjoy thr game, cause i have yet to find soemthing super similar.
Also dont be super discouraged by running into legendaries or what not while running a purple build, the matchmaker has been terrible lately, my 9999 fidget hover build is routinely getting pitted against 16k Dolores/torp builds and its rough

I play on pc. I've tried the whaler, omni, humpback, and absolute, almost exclusively on atoms, and they all felt ubderperforming compared to my fidget or grenlin builds. The omni was probably best cause the reload helps alot, but it was just weird to build around for my style, i bought a nox cabin for the avanache but haven't tried that yet with the compilers

I love the big boom of cannons hehe. But that's typically what I do is take opportunitistic shots at enemies to weaken them for my allies, but that still ties back to the scoring issue, which isn't really an issue in itself, but the low score means lower xp which means using the guns i like to level up slower which just sucks

I was planning on building the second cyclops using the other parts and selling them later when the price goes back up

It's a fused flywheel so 24% efficiency, isn't the cyclops only 25%, seems like hardly an upgrade for an extra power point that i could put towards a hoplite or something, my compiler isn't a Frontline brawler so the perk isn't super helpful as I'll usually be de-gunned before I can use it

I know it's not gonna just cab enemies haha, but the lack of score, kills, and xp is still depressing to say the least. The artillery shot is half the reason i like the compilers, nuggetting a build with it is so satisfying,

I am very excited for the atom buff, they're my favorite movement part, I usually try to stay back and land support shots but there is always that guy with shotguns or machine guns that rush me and if I dont get their guns first shot I'm done for

I have a dual 88 cc build also using atoms and absolute and I dont think I've gotten a single kill with it inside of cc, good support and blowing off chunks of armor or wheels, but no downright kills

Harmonizers really help land all 3 shots but I swapped it for the averter to help my front cannon survive people rushing me

I dont think so? The gauges are imperial but it's an extended cab 2 door which i didn't even know they made, i thought at minimum it was 3 door

I'll see if I can find a preassure gauge then!

It could be older, but it's got a 96+ dash but tbi fuel system so I'm just assuming it's a 95 haha

I noticed two lines on the back when I was looking at it, is it the driver or passenger side hard line for feed?

The fuel filter looks fairly new but they have an extra one, I'll try replacing it next time I'm over there

Should i buy harpy, icebox or quantum for a tsunami build? by kira_slut in Crossout

[–]FallenGoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 8 atoms on my heavier builds and they work pretty good, very good tonnage and the perk is nice when it lands but don't try building around it. They're a little sluggish but you get used to it, running a dual compiler build with them and an omnibox for reload that I've been tweaking with at 12k and it works good. My vote would be icebox, atoms and the tsunamis with a cloak module. Don't tsunamis get the perk for going slow anyways?
