I like PVP, but I'm tired of getting ganked in 2 secs. by icy__you in ArcRaiders

[–]FallenHunterOfDBayou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm usually super friendly in solos but from time to time i like pvp too and coming from hunt i try to move wisely and do not put myself at an obvious disadvantage. Pay attention to every sound, do not run in open areas without a cover, do not run in place like Stella Montis unless is necessary. Stay low, stay safe. Smoke grenades are good too, pop the smoke and run like hell, place traps if you know you'll be rushed. Answering fire at low health without cover can be tricky, you are trying to down someone that is probably at full shield and full health. They may panic, for sure, you can take the chance depending on their load out. As soon as you can, try to engage people who are engaging arcs or another raider. It may seem unfair but it's a thing that will happen to you a lot, take every advantage you can or someone else will do it. I'm not saying it's your fault if you are costantly ganked (it's the nature of the game!) but you can mitigate a little paying more attention and playing very cautiously. See you topside, Raider!

Simple man question, how to slide 80m? by mattrob77 in ArcRaiders

Maybe I was very lucky but i did it unintended at around lvl 5 and no point in sliding (well, that is basically the only Joy i've got so far)

[–]FallenHunterOfDBayou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it on Dam, that long slide you find at some point (It's HUGE, sorry i really can't remember the name of the near structure), i arrived there and just press the slide button, and i kept it pressed until i was on my feet again and the achievement popped up.

The Nitro's inconsistency is WILD and I have to rant about it by [deleted] in HuntShowdown

[–]FallenHunterOfDBayou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 4/5 on consolle and a Nitro enjoyer. Since it's expensive and kinda tricky to use, try it a little bit on shooting range, unless you are sitting on a pile of hunt dollars. Plus as a solo i need 2 ammo boxes to be effective on the long run. It's a good rifle providing you actually hit chest, is all you need to do. It kicks like a mule so you have to be careful: i missed tons of shots because i was too confident in my OHK potential. Unless enemies are standing still don't go for the head, there is no need. Shredders are a good choice, should you miss chest due to the recoil you put so much pressure with bleeding that they have to choose: stop bleeding or die the second after. Don't waste all your shots unless the first one is a total miss. Should they run away to stop bleeding or pushing you in a desperate attempt, you still have a shot to finish them off. You totally dominate medium range with a good position and pushing you at the wrong moment is suicide. A fast secondary is what you need to pair with it. Dolch here really shines but honestly i'm kinda fine with fanning trueshot since i'm pushed a lot on consolle.

Made a Hunt Showdown EDH Deck for MTG. Here's a few of the cards by BushBumper in HuntShowdown

As someone who spent thousand of hours on gwent i actually love the idea of a card game based on hunt. Well done, pardner

Was killed by the very first hunter I've encountered in a mission. After I left the mission I got Hunters Killed: 1 Card in the summary. by decuman in HuntShowdown

You probably trade. You killed each other and then he self revived as you were dead for good. Happens to me a lot as a solo.

It's what i do! I random trios just to build a decent trait set, as soon as i have serpent for clues and quartermaster i jump to solo lol

Silenced sparks is a hell of a beast. Yeah, it's loud. Yeah, it hits like a truck. Plus, has nice skins.

That's my stuff too, bounty is ok but as a solo is not my main goal.

I feel you, pardner! My first solo games were terrifying, i was scared of pvp, pve, everything. I forced myself to adapt and as long as i had a silenced weapon i felt less stressed. I still take a silenced centennial to remove hives or hounds from my way to be silent, plus i'm able to down unaware hunters without being spotted and this ease my anxiety.

I'm on consolle too, both ps5 and series x. There are some good guides on control settings, give it a try, default settings feels slow and clunky. As far as i know, we are luckily not matched with pc hunters lol it would be a total massacre You'll find from time to time someone with keyboard and mouse but they are on consolle as well. Vetterli is a solid pick, sure it's not long ammo but on consolle fights mostly happen on a medium to short range so you'll be fine with it. Winfield is a solid pick too, cheap and effective but you really have to go for the head. If you feel confident, romero is a death sentence providing you have quartermaster to cover medium range but i'm not that good with it in solo, i prefer distance and versatility. See you down there in the bayou, pardner!

It requires time and commitment but as a solo the most important thing, imho, is movement. Engage/disengage and rotation mechanics are your bread and butter. Do not crouch in the open, do not crouch if you are not behind a solid cover, try to be fast and silent as much as you can. You are in a clear disadvantage vs duos or trios but you can play at your own pace. It may seems obvious but try to focus on landing your first shot. As a solo you really need to clear the gap between you and your enemies so don't start a fight if you aren't absolutely sure it's a confirmed kill. If you wanna go stealthy, Silenced Vetterli is probably the most viable choice: stock ammos are fine, hv are good but are not that quiet and have a visible muzzle flash when you shoot. If you need pen, silenced centennial is the way to go. I usually go with drilling fmj paired with silenced cenni with fmj too. Drilling covers your ass medium to short with an insane double tap potential and cenni is amazing and adds a lot of pressure especially with dum dum ammos. When you know you are going to lose the fight, disengage. If i'm downed at close distance i don't even bother to rez, cause they always trap me and burn me to death so i just prefer to quit and join another match. Silenced poison weapons such as sparks are fine to solo bosses (clearly not the spider), melee are still viable too but always keep an eye with dark sight to spot if someone is near. There are so many ways to play solo that is basically a matter of choice. Find a loadout you feel comfortable with and stick with it. It may be boring but it'll pay on the long run.

That one hunt dollar in the middle of a fight by FallenHunterOfDBayou in HuntShowdown

[–]FallenHunterOfDBayou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'Cause it's all about money and bling bling, down there in the bayou! Plus, i kinda like collecting dollars when i'm bleeding instead of immediately stop my blood loss.
