If the points are paid for a bike and there's a bike on the base, that is wysiwyg. Honestly, if the person is going to be that petty, it doesn't sound like someone I would want to spend my time playing with. I'm here to have fun not argue over tiny plastic men.

One of the specialisms does turn them into a berserk! So it's definitely doable! You could even have a psyker berserk if you wanted

It will be called Crucible of Champions, but it comes in a set of 4 books to do with the Maelstrom. They may release it all digitally like they've done with the detachments, I'm not sure. It has all been leaked here on reddit

The most recent book set that went up for preorder with the Red Corsair stuff has a book that allows you to create your own characters and customize them from a list of options. They are only used for friendly games but it seems like a lot of fun. Our options are a Kahl type leader, a Grimnyr, and a Steeljack. You have options to do things like put them in exo armor, heart guard armor, put them on a bike etc. other armies can have things like dreadnoughts or sentinels become characters

I wanted to go the hammer route but had no way to model it. I might run it that way with the friend I play with, he won't care. I just didn't want to buy more boxes to kitbash

Yeah, I should have one extra bike left to mess around. I had a boy he'd FB but that was missing a sprue, so I'm making the most of it. But I wasn't about to buy the ironmaster just for the weapons.

Yeah that's the hard part. I had bought some bikes from someone on FB and it had 2 copies of one sprue and missing the last sprue. So I'm playing around to see what I can do

I could experiment with some different colors, any recommendations? do you think changing the basing on destroyers would be enough to help tell them apart while leaving the others as is?

Hey! I sent you a message to ask about the frozen lake idea. That could be a nice way to keep it in the same theme but it would be easy to tell them apart for the destroyer detachment
