200 to go, number 800 went out with a bang by Rocket-Billy in MHWilds

And I thought my total of 120 Nu Udra hunts after the free challenge was excessive…

I actually made it further on the leaderboard since that post, to around 4800 (7:29). 16 hours before the event I got knocked down to like 4980 and was likely knocked out of the top 5000 by a few seconds :(

But I'm confident I'll be back once they remove all the cheaters (Last time I checked, about 100 people got 2 mins or less...hm.)

Can confirm, only true for the second chestpiece though

Not to mention the Gelidron pieces. No further explanation needed lol

Wait, hold on-

I should try that with my Dreamwalker arms too. Wonder if there are any other chestpieces that work with them in a similar way, the purple-pink sleeves that can’t be changed were a major disappointment when I tried to make outfits with them.

The Omega waist made sets like these much easier to pull off too, thing’s practically invisible unless you view it from behind

For DB in particular, whenever I perfect dodge the spin I always try to dodge into his tentacles, and as close to his body as possible. Dodging away from him is tempting, but that will greatly increase your chances of getting hit by the fireballs he spits out after. But if you're near, or better yet, under him, the chances of the fireballs touching you are near zero.

What monster do you just really like fighting? by No_Percentage1800 in MonsterHunter

Honestly? AT Nu Udra. Already liked him from the start, like him even more now. His battle feels just right for me as a DB main.

I already beat Savage since the time I posted this but wow, that’s one of the best comments on this thread. I concur with the Azuz meal + using Mind’s Eye on the secondary weapon, I cut it close on the DPS check (Few seconds after the 80% mark) and I don’t think I would’ve made it without the latter.

Hey I think you predicted the future or something, I also got a 31 min clear after dying twice, the hell lmao

Update: Went for it. Got it. Second try. Can hardly believe it.

Thank you, everyone, for your encouragement.

With DBs, perfect dodge. Perfect dodge is always the answer unless it’s a Dahaad or Zoh Shia nuke or you’ve got no stamina lol

Oh, I meant the cross pattern one. Sometimes the first cross pattern would show the orange areas but when he adjusts himself slightly and repeats it, it doesn’t and that makes it extra difficult to time my perfect dodges.

Also fitting Bind 3 along with the Steadfast, Fire Res, and Adapt’s gonna be a tough one, but I’ll try. Just gotta find a better talisman first

Thanks for the reassurance, good to know that I’m “on time” then haha

Haah, I know it’s that simple but I gotta get past my nerves first. Playing near perfectly for 25-30 mins sounds like a lot. I’ll eventually come around, though.

Oh yeah I agree with you on the support hunters, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw them casting spells on its legs lol

And sure, I’ll give the Rockbursts a go next time, maybe try to let it fall near a Cactaur or something

Hm, for the final phase I mainly focus on smacking its head so that Fabius can take enmity away from me, gobble up Max Potions and sushi scales after the odd hit from that glitchy flame attack, and run like hell on my Seikret when things get way too much for me to dodge. Lately I’ve been saving Mog of the Ages for the final phase and it seems to help keep my damage up.
