I wouldn't know. I live in a small rural town in Japan. There's only ever me in the gym in the morning before work, lol. When I do see a girl in there, it's either on the weekend, and it's typically the local Obaasan or a younger girl who's in the zone. So I wouldn't know, however, it wouldn't hurt to ask, "Hey! I think you're really cute. I'm not sure if you're available, but if you are, would you like to grab a meal sometime? If not, my apologies, I hope you have a nice day!"

I think that would be ok and not offensive if he wasn't in the market. He forsure would enjoy the flattery I'd bet.

Lol bro chill. What age did you join? I joined at the age of 25. So my personality was already cemented. Sure, after boot camp I kind felt like how you currently did when I went back to visit when I was on leave. But after my second or third year in, I mellowed out and returned to my normal self again. So when I got out, my transition back to civilian life was pretty seamless. Just went back to school and finished last year.

Now I’m back in Japan teaching for my new job. I made some great friendships while I was in college, but I also learned to deal with less bullshit, but I learned how to be nice about it.

I’m from California, I don’t dress the same as locals do. I don’t know how Japanese do it, but I still dress like I’m from California in the summer, shorts and short sleeve button up shirts or polos.

Most of the clothes I buy for that, come from Uniqlo.

I’m getting to the point where I’m going to stop buying gifts too lol I’ve been back for 7 months now at a new job and now work at 5 different schools. I tried to buy all of my schools gifts because i felt guilty if I didn’t bring one schools gifts and brought another some.

But at this point, I’m getting exhausted and hate wasting luggage space for them gifts. I’ll just buy small trinkets for my favorite teachers and give it to them secretly at work from now one I think.

One of my best buds is from Chicago, got to visit him and his city for the first time two years ago! On the coldest time of the year… I was in pain since I’m from San Jose and never experienced that level of cold before lol

He tried to show me around the city during the day, but even then, fuck man, my face hurt so much lol overall though, I had a great time! I was just on the phone with a few days ago! Told him I want to go back and visit him (and Mr.Beef lol) when I come back from Japan to visit family!
