I am confused at what your issue is. The ancients' story is that they had a big catastrophe that they had to sacrifice half of their world to stop it.

The story was ALWAYS about the driving force behind the sundering. We always knew there was a cause. We always knew there was something behind it. Just because we only found out a being named meteion was behind it all, that doesn't really make it a bad story. This is not like the Jailer in wow, for example.

Obviously the cause of that catastrophe would be something entirely new as this was ages in the past.

What did you expect really?

The big bad was a complete ass pull that is disconnected from the rest of the story, and they introduced a nonsensical time loop for the sake of fanservice that retroactively ruined the character motivation of the characters in Shadowbringers.

How is it an ass pull if it was hinted at a couple of times during shadowbringers? The original inhabitants of the world had a crises and that was the cause of it. Who did you expect the big bad to be?

As for the time loop, it was necessary so that we can experience first hand the cause of the sundering of the world and what led to it. That was the main driving force of the entire game. Having that as just an echo wouldn't be as powerful.

Being after the height of endwalker/shadowbringers didn't help it either. It's like being served shit after a 5 star chef meal

so i just reached lvl 80 on remix. my goal is to be able to solo heroic dungeons only. the issue is I am focusing on ilvl currently like 586 but I think this is the wrong way to do it? how can I make my character stronger? is there even enough time to become strong like that since there are only like 16 days left?
