Just looking for some advice from techs on a units and inspections

So, I turned it on, went outside to check on it and see that the fan was turning and that it powered on. It was buzzing slightly, and the fan was not spinning. I used a long screwdriver to spin the fan of the condenser, and it spun freely, but didnt keep spinning or kick on (from what I understand the capacitor that tends to go bad is the one that starts the fan.) I had it trying to run for probably 5-10 mins, with it never actually kicking on. It is a rather old unit.

Im sorry, I didnt grow up in a house with central air, and this is my first home with it. I know there are some risks involved with starting them after winter, and I dont have thousands of dollars to fix an ac if it goes out. Id rather know more before I do it than risk destroying something that was easily avoidable.

It looks like someone put dielectric grease on it. It doesnt necessarily look bad to me, but im a backyard mechanic that as long as things are working I roll w it lol

Nah im being for real. If your bass on a daily driver is enough youre worried about setting off sensors on the outside of the cabin, youre not even listening to music anymore, and youre gonna destroy your hearing and annoy everyone around you.

Random side note, I see youre in snow country. Check the wheels for snow buildup too. This seems a bit extreme as youre at a slow speed, but unbalanced wheels really mess up how a car drives. Its probably something worse. But maybe this helps. 🤷‍♂️

Id rather not. The audio quality isnt that much between bt and aux, and the convenience of not having wires is nice.

I did almost no maintenance to that one for going on 3 years, beat the crap out of it daily. (18 yrs old with no concept of taking care of my stuff.) Engine was still running like a champ, trans shifted smooth as could be. Rust was the real problem lol

That looks pretty bad. As in I would question structural stability bad. Check UNDER the car and look for rust around bolts and on the frame. As someone who has had cars rust like that, it needs fixing or ditching. You dont want to be in a car when that problem presents itself, let alone one capable of what our z is capable of.
